None of the underdogs have had a chance to play on their home floor yet. A lot of Game 3's and Game 4's will be won by the current series underdog, extending their series out, just watch. You guys are right, the long stretch between games sucks, but thats the price to be paid to be able to watch every single playoff game on TV without them overlapping all the time.

I'm not a big fan of any other major sport so I know what its like not having any NBA games on TV during the summer and it sucks. I'll take as many playoff games as I can get right now. Leave it at all best of 7's.

that's true, but Basketball is a Winter sport in this country, which makes it funny that they play until June!

that's true, but Basketball is a Winter sport in this country, which makes it funny that they play until June!

If the playoffs followed that format, they would get the best ratings ever. However, the revenue from possibly 40 less games wouldn't make Stern happy. I'm really anxious to see last season and this season's ratings compared to the last two years of the 5-7-7-7 format. I'm thinking the first round ratings have collapsed, but I might be wrong.

True, I've only watched the Knicks games so far. I caught the end of the Rockets-Lakers on Saturday night (last 6 min. or so). Games 1 and 2 just mean crap in a best of seven. In a best of 5 they are pretty big games. Especially game 2.

Hockey is way toooo long, you are very correct there. Baseball starts in the Spring and ends in the early Fall, perfect timing. Baseball is by far the only sport that I feel is the perfect length. Football in Feb. is just not right in my book either.
