This is what the NBA needed, a great physical, emotional game 7. The momentum from Game 6 should make game 7 memorable, especially with the teams playing so soon. Oh wait, game 7 isn't until Thursday??

Rasheed Wallace's muscle in the arch of his foot is seperating from the bone....

He is still playing 30+ minutes a night....

Unless Kidd is playing on a broken fibula, a fractured penis, or he is literally on fire, I would venture to guess that he is not just as hurt as Rasheed...

Re: Pistons vs. Nets: Second Round Thread

After 4 straight games of blowouts to open the series, the rest of the series has suddenly become the extremely competitive, grind-it-out affair I had thought it would be in the first place. This should make for an epic Game 7 at The Palace Thursday night.

And looking back the last couple games... Larry Brown f*cked up not playing Mehmet Okur and Elden Campbell during overtime in Game 5. The Nets had absolutely no big men left to play! With their fresh legs, and the Nets having no way to match up going big, it should've been obvious to have either Okur or Campbell getting the ball in the post. Seeing Brown trying to match-up with the Nets instead of dictating the matchups what they do drove me nuts. Although Chauncey Billups put up numbers in that game, he really didn't play that well. The way he telegraphs his passes running half-court sets irritates me. And I don't get why Billups hardly ever drives to the basket with the intention of setting up teammates. It's like he doesn't try to understand how breaking down a defense is done without looking for a shot on his own. This is another big reason why the Pistons lost Game 5. Billups needs to watch a bunch of tapes of Jason Kidd and witness how Kidd gets his teammates the ball in better position to make shots with hard drives to the basket.

If Game 6 proved anything it's that if the Pistons make shots, the Nets can't run, plain and simple. Guys have gotta knock down shots to keep the Nets from running.

Whenever Ben Wallace gets the ball in the post, he should look pass to cutters or an open man on the perimeter. Looking for his own shot should be the last thought on his mind since that's what the Nets want him to do. Shooting and missing shots takes him away from getting any offensive rebounds.

And 2-3 zone with Mehmet Okur and the Wallaces on the frontline worked great for a stretch during the second quarter. It threw the Nets off-guard. I personally thought the Nets didn't try to find enough shots for Kerry Kittles. This zone scheme used by the Pistons probably won't be effective for more than a few minutes of a game, but it's good to use on occasion.
