Re: 2014 Eastern Conference Playoffs -1st Round Discussion Thread
It's a reach because you're comparing how the rules of a professional sports league are enforced with the way police enforce state laws? This shouldn't even need explaining, especially if your best example is going 5 mph over the speed limit. Oh yeah, we're certainly going to nail every dirty bastard in America going 5 mph over the speed limit. We've got the manpower on call for that task alright.
Not really sure why you're arguing with me about this. Has nothing to do with my overall point which you should've very easily understood.Indianapolis Colts

Exactly, those rules - like they were under Stu Jackson and David Stern - should be cut and dry with no subjectivity involved. They are obviously proving that the rules can be overlooked for certain teams while not other teams.

I'm not comparing the two rules/laws. I'm comparing the common sense factor of them(with not suspending PG and not ticketing people for going a little bit over the speed limit).

The NBA has suspended people for this rule on multiple occasions and each time justified it by pounding the desk telling us all that the rule is clear not to leave the bench. There is no gray area by their own admission. It's a problem when the last six or seven years they've been enforcing the rule one way and pounding their chest about it being a cut and dry rule and then pull out of their *** not to enforce it the same way at some later date. But again, the enforcement of an NBA rule and a state law by police are two completely different things that makes no sense bringing them up together.Comment

You argued my man. You took exception with me saying your point doesn't make sense because the two things don't fit.

Does that make more sense? I know you're a smart man king. I'm only comparing the common sense factor. Maybe I shouldn't have compared it to that but that was the quickest thing that came to my mind.
Like I said I understand players have been suspended for the same thing before and we all threw a fit then. Now we're going to throw a fit for the league doing the right thing because they're not consistent? How about throwing a fit over the rule? The wording of it needs changed. Either that or there needs to be different levels of punishments. Having the power to suspend someone for an entire game for stepping 3 feet onto the court is absolutely absurd.Indianapolis Colts
