If there's no salary cap balance then there's no competitiveness in the league. There already isn't much. Hell if anything say the highest bidder automatically gets the player. That way you can't area discriminate against a team like Cleveland or Detroit.

I honestly think they can replace Battier with someone like Marion or Tucker. For what he brings Tucker would possibly be a fairly large upgrade, all that really kept Battier from being what could have been the perfect player for them was widely inconsistent shooting. Marion gives them the same defense with probably better rebounding and he's a threat to attack. Tucker is arguably an upgrade defensively with a more consistent shot.

I think they need a Wade sub more than they need a big man or point guard. Someone who can actually be a threat to not only score but make some plays while Wade is on the bench. Because when he's out everything falls to LeBron. Bosh can't/won't/isn't asked to post up. And even if he would, he goes to the bench the same times Wade does about 80% of the time. It becomes line ups with LeBron, Ray, Bird, Lewis/Battier, Cole.. It's just a mess. If LeBron is having a great game it usually doesn't matter, but it's hard to ask that line up to compete at both ends when the game plan is just LeBron create everything.

Idk who they can get, but Vince Carter, Alan Anderson, Stuckey, Nick Young, Kent Bazemore, Turner, Sessions, Crawford.. I mean there are options, nothing eye-popping but they can easily upgrade over playing Toney Douglas and James Jones at starting SG while Wade is out/resting.

If you can fill those holes then I think you start looking at best available/big men. Gasol, Deng, Hill, Pierce, Ariza..

I wouldn't be surprised to seem them add some backcourt leadership, just some vets like Mo Williams or Jameer Nelson. Or some hustle bigman for rebounds.. Josh McRoberts, Kris Humphries, Bynum (long shot), Mike Scott, Blair, J O'Neal, Okafor, Ivan Johnson, etc..

Also I could see them pushing for a combo guard like Vasquez, a shooter like Frye or Marvin Williams, a scoring threat like Steve Blake or Aaron Brooks... Also wouldn't surprise me if they attempted to pick up Boozer if the Bulls do amnesty him, same with Perk and OKC, or reach out to a vet like Butler or Granger..

Also a long shot at adding young athletes. Wes Johnson, Xavier Henry, Aminu.. Though I'm not sure about the "need" there if they really intend on playing Ennis.

Lot of random guys, and not sure which have been signed already, just think there is a good chance they can upgrade with what is available still.. Some of those guys will definitely get paid, but all it takes is for a few of them to decide to go for a ring. Hopefully Carter and Gasol will be those two, and the "hype" of them signing might persuade a hustle player or two. Who knows man. I just know Riley won't leave empty.

Stuckey and Hill would be good signings for Miami IMO.

Majority of these rumors don't really make sense and does not quite align if you thoroughly look into it.

The first once for instance: The Big 3 communication breakdown
            - LeBron opts out
            - A few days later LeBron meets up with Wade & Bosh as well as Heat internals
            - Days later Wade, Haslem & Bosh all opt out
            - Then come the rumors of the Big 3 supposedly "not on the same page"

Another one is LeBron wanting a short-term max deal starting around $20 million. This one may be believable but if indeed true, why didn't he just opt-in for next season at $20.5 million (tax free). Similar situation with the Bosh rumors, though he'd probably want a long-term deal.

Again my gut feeling is telling me that the Big 3 won't re-sign yet until Riley can convince any of the FAs to join. In essence, this will allow the Big 3 some wiggle room around their contracts (either take less or more depending on how much cap space they have after recruiting the FAs and projected roster fillers).

If there's no salary cap, things will just end up like the MLB.

                1) Because that would be committing to staying in Miami without really any guarantee that the team will be better. This way he can see how the market is going around the rest of the league and then decide.

                2) Once again, it doesn't work like that. They can't decide after recruiting guys depending on how much capspace is left because of cap holds. This is why guys/teams are waiting to see what the LeBron's of the world do first. You can't just go out and sign other team's free agents and then go over the cap to sign your guys

im with you on that. i dont know if its possible but if they could somehow get jamal Crawfowd he would be perfect. they definitely need another scorer though.

as for the big, i really think they should go after Okafor (if he is healthy) first. if not then Jordan Hill. playing with Lebron i can see him avg a double-double next season.

Yall kind of reaching with some of those players though.. Jordan Hill is a youngster looking for money not crumbs.. Jamal Crawford might as well stay in LA if he gonna take a paycut.. Aint no way Vasquez comin.. other than that the other names sound realistic but not really upgrades maybe not even lateral in some cases.

Well, we really have to wait and see what happens with the big 3, before we know how much money they could offer those guys. Although, they most likely won't have enough money to sign them anyway. I don't think Hill is gonna get any big offers though. Crawford's not a free agent so he'd have to be traded. I think Stuckey would be a solid move for them, but that's just me.
Other than that, I don't know how many good moves are out there. Maybe they should look forward to future free agents. It's not like they immediately need to become significantly better to remain contenders for the next few years.

I don't think any are really lateral. You replace Battier, Jones, Oden with 3 guys that can even trust with finals minutes and it's an instant upgrade. If those 3 turn into Carter, Gasol, Tucker (just an example) that's quite a bit better.

I'm assuming Chalmers, Ray, Haslem, possibly Beas, Lewis, or Bird will be back. Paired with Cole, Napier and the Big 3, you already have an 8-10 man roster.. Just adding Gasol or whoever to replace Battier is a big upgrade.
