This. I know he's good but it seems like people think he doesn't miss on anything or that's the perception i've been getting. Just interesting.

So Lakers pitch to Melo playing with Kobe Bryant, Pau Gasol , and Julius Randle with short term obligation (contract?) actually made a good impression.

Why not just go to the bulls then. Is it the location ?

To be fair only two of those are from being an executive. Phil Jackson has what, 13 rings and nobody is trumpeting him as a never misses exec yet. Granted he's new on the job. Just in the context of what he said and the point he was making, Riley's ring total means little.

Melo must have a hard on for playing in huge cities because its apparent he doesn't really care about winning.

Its hard to fault him for wanting to stick with New York though, he's been through some pretty high high's with them and some pretty low low's and honestly bringing Phil Jackson in would tempt me to stay quite a bit if I were Melo.

yeah partly. Melo has a home here in which he stays in in the offseason. his wife used to live here as well. plus him and Kobe are pretty good friends. there both NY natives but living here wouldnt be foreign to them.

ESPN surely is over hyping it at least a little bit though lol

yea but will they take psn cards
Depends on what area of a hooker you would use to redeem them.

I don't think anyone is denying that Riley is really, really good at what he does, but the way some of you guys talk about him you would think he's got some Jedi mind control over these guys lol

So apparently the Lakers can't pay Pau more than 6 a year if Melo comes. Lol good luck with that Buss

Nobody speaks like Riley is flawless or perfect, come on now let's stop playing that card lol.

I see more folks do that with the Spurs, acting as if every move they do is perfect and never goes wrong.

The Spurs could pick the worst player in the draft and people would be like "WOW WHAT AN AMAZING PICK"

I think Pau said he's fine with that so long as Melo signs. But he isn't resigning if they don't get Melo.

I just read that the Lakers can offer him more than any team lol. Yikes

Everyone's after Gasol: Bulls, Thunder, Spurs, Heat etc. etc. so it looks like he's going to have to take a paycut regardless... this is going to be interesting to watch unfold

I couldn't imagine him going anywhere other than San Antonio or Miami, assuming all he's after at this point is winning. Maybe if Melo goes to Chicago and they have room.

OKC has the least amount to offer, if I'm not mistaken. And I can't imagine him choosing to go there knowing he wouldn't get any touches and still possibly couldn't get past San Antonio, LAC, HOU, etc.

Going to San Antonio or Miami should make them finals favorites, barring injuries or changes to other teams, like Melo to Chicago or OKC getting help..

All that assuming he doesn't want to return to LA, which is what I've saw everywhere.
