Then you at the least have to give him credit for his "luck" in obtaining 9 rings I guess?, lolComment

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
So Lakers pitch to Melo playing with Kobe Bryant, Pau Gasol , and Julius Randle with short term obligation (contract?) actually made a good impression.
Why not just go to the bulls then. Is it the location ?#1 Laker fan

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
To be fair only two of those are from being an executive. Phil Jackson has what, 13 rings and nobody is trumpeting him as a never misses exec yet. Granted he's new on the job. Just in the context of what he said and the point he was making, Riley's ring total means little.Comment

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
Its hard to fault him for wanting to stick with New York though, he's been through some pretty high high's with them and some pretty low low's and honestly bringing Phil Jackson in would tempt me to stay quite a bit if I were Melo.NFL: Pittsburgh Steelers

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
So apparently the Lakers can't pay Pau more than 6 a year if Melo comes. Lol good luck with that BussComment

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
Nobody speaks like Riley is flawless or perfect, come on now let's stop playing that card lol.
I see more folks do that with the Spurs, acting as if every move they do is perfect and never goes wrong.#RespectTheCultureComment

The Spurs could pick the worst player in the draft and people would be like "WOW WHAT AN AMAZING PICK"Comment

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
I think Pau said he's fine with that so long as Melo signs. But he isn't resigning if they don't get Melo.

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
Everyone's after Gasol: Bulls, Thunder, Spurs, Heat etc. etc. so it looks like he's going to have to take a paycut regardless... this is going to be interesting to watch unfoldComment

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
I couldn't imagine him going anywhere other than San Antonio or Miami, assuming all he's after at this point is winning. Maybe if Melo goes to Chicago and they have room.
OKC has the least amount to offer, if I'm not mistaken. And I can't imagine him choosing to go there knowing he wouldn't get any touches and still possibly couldn't get past San Antonio, LAC, HOU, etc.
Going to San Antonio or Miami should make them finals favorites, barring injuries or changes to other teams, like Melo to Chicago or OKC getting help..
All that assuming he doesn't want to return to LA, which is what I've saw everywhere.
