You know what though Pack. I've said before, this is the league we're in now. A team trying to fight fire with fire at this point can't even be mad at. If everybody has been fighting with swords and someone shows up with a gun shooting up everything, can you really laugh at everybody trying go out to buy guns at that point?

I'm still not following you, sorry. They "magically got" those picks after LeBron left in 2010. Durant and Westbrook were drafted in '07 and '08. At one point would it have been possible to magically get the top draft pick to draft either of them while LeBron was leading them to the Finals and playoffs those two years.

My point is the cavs are at the same point OKC was back in 08. A crazy amount of potential collected through the draft. If you added a player like today's Lebron to that team in 08-09, you have a superteam. Maybe not specifically in that season, but very shortly afterwards - for many years.

We're believers in Bennett now? It wasn't that long ago when he was receiving that "bust" label from folks 2-3 months into the season and thought he'd eat his way out of the league in 2 years lol.

Idk I guess what I'm trying to say is that I don't think there's a scenario where you can have Lebron do "less" and still win a championship.

I don't think so. Typical LeBron would be him going to Brooklyn, Chicago, Phoenix, LA Clippers.

I just can't see the reasoning for people rolling their eyes at the guy if he were to go back to Cleveland. That doesn't seem fair to him at all.

That's like someone getting upset at HHH returning to his DX gimmick.

Which is why the Cavs would avoid the same crap that the Heat went through. There would be a certain level of growth and development rather than going straight to superteam

Not sure that analogy makes sense in this case lol.

And what exactly is typical Lebron? This is only the 2nd time he's been a FA in his career?

If I were Cleveland and got Lebrun, I would at least tried to see how my young players played with him first. A guy like Waiters would draw the 2nd or 3rd defender in late game situations which would make him much more dangerous.
"Maybe I can't win. But to beat me, he's going to have to kill me. And to kill me, he's gonna have to have the heart to stand in front of me. And to do that, he's got to be willing to die himself. I don't know if he's ready to do that."

Believers in Bennett? Depending on your definition? I threw his name in there because he's a young big man who was supposed to have potential. The very least is that he's a young guy.

Oh trust me there is. Especially during the regular season. Especially defensively. Having younger guys around you would allow that. When push comes to shove he'd still have to be what every superstar is to his team.

Wasn't all this supposed to be reserved for the LeBron thread? Lol

That said, his addition to that team immediately makes them a Top 3 team. Mainly because he is that good and the East is THAT bad.

He wouldn't get as much heat (no pun intended) for going back home, however the media circus would still be just as prevalent as it is now, if not more so.

Folks can say what they want about spos minute management but the heat haven't had much depth since day 1... Cleveland and the suns would offer that

I think the analogy works lol. HHH was loved as the babyface DX leader. Then he destroys DX and is the most hated heel in the modern era.

That is like LeBron. He had his "heel turn". Then if he goes back to Cleveland people would be upset as a whole? I just don't the logic in that at all.

It's like HHH being heel all of those years and then he helps HBK out and they form DX and people hate HHH for going babyface again.

I think that is a perfect analogy for what is going on.
