This is incredible. Hats off to MJ and the franchise, and especially to the Pelicans. Tom Benson & co are a class act.
Great to see. Too bad not all franchises can do that. Phoenix Coyotes for example are refusing to give the Winnipeg Jets their history back. I don't think a single person in Phoenix will even care if that happened, yet so many people in Winnipeg will love that their team can acknowledge their history again and use old logos and all that.

So will Charlotte Hornets history now include the original Hornets AND Bobcats? Or will they just erase the Bobcats from their history?

I'd welcome Love, but not with losing Beal. Beal/Wall together and throw Love in there? Now we're talking.

They take back the original Hornets history from start thru last season played in Charlotte before moving to New Orleans, the Bobcats history of course from start to finish this season and obviously everything moving forward.

          lets play pick the lottery,

choose the teams for picks 1-3 (you can order them if you want)

magic, bucks, lakers (tempted to say bucks stay @ #1 cuz of recent team sales ala NOH back for davis, but i think they will be picking 2 or 3)

update on the love front, warriors reportedly refuse to trade klay so not sure loves going there

No kidding, lots of "homeless" Baltimore Colts out there. It's different though because they're getting the name back.

As for the Bobcats, not much history to erase.

The Charlotte Bobcats will remain win-less in the playoffs for the rest of history (0-8).

                Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread

It does suck to see many teams basically "homeless"(since you^ said it). In baseball,Montreal Expos are never gonna be acknowledged by the Nationals, yet the Nats own their history. Blue Jays did stuff this past spring training which was great, but they're still not able to entirely acknowledge Montreal Expos history.

Baltimore Colts don't get mentioned by Indianapolis or Ravens.

Houston Oilers don't get recognized by the Texans

Winnipeg Jets as I mentioned can't be recognized by the new Winnipeg Jets

I don't believe 76ers can't recognize the Philadelphia Warriors or anything(and if he never played for 76ers,they prob won't be able to recognize Wilt as part of their history)

Hopefully when Seattle gets a team back, they get the Sonics history with it.

Yes he could leave, he stated "free agents would be crazy to not come here" so I'm guessing he wants to stay, plus his family loves it here..it's all up to Ted and Ernie right now..I want him back, unless they're counting on Otto to step up.

4a. Love goes to Houston (for Jones, Parsons, and whatever). Harden, Love, and Dwight would be awesome to see. Also, I believe in Jones and Parsons is a very good player and would add some big shooting for Rubio's lack of it. Martin and Parsons on the wing would really help stretch the floor. Some more filler/picks from Houston.
Houston just got 2 big free agents the last 2 years and you want them to get another one?

HOW MUCH HELP DO THEY NEED?

Not saying Love isn't going to thrive and put up similar numbers elsewhere but...

He's been on some surprisingly bad teams and never lead any of them to the playoffs in all his years on those teams.

Not knocking him or anything, I like his game a lot and he consistently puts up great numbers.

Just trying to put it in its proper perspective. Have the TWolves spoke on Love? What's their stance on it? They really don't have much trade leverage here.

I'm not too high on Love either. He doesn't seem to be the vocal leader I'd expect from a top 10 player. And I'm pretty sure Rubio has made comments regarding this if I'm not mistaken.

He's also not that strong defensively which is not a huge secret.
