Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
Potentially force Melo's hand with the Bulls? S & T is off the table with the Lakers now, so lure him to Chicago straight up knowing Pau may be there instead of coming to NY. I don't know, just throwing stuff out there.Comment

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
You hit the nail on the head. That's what they were trying to do with The Knicks and Bulls. The same difficulties they are going through is what they wanted to put on those teams. It wasn't them thinking those players were worth that money. They had every intention to destroy those teams by saddling them with those contracts for players they had every intention of bringing back. Looks like a troll to me.
At the time the Rockets had NOTHING. Yao had just retired. They had nothing.
Remember that.
They had to acquire assets. Lin was young and was putting up all-star numbers and Asik was a Moreyball player who DM thought if given the mins could put up numbers and performance (he was right on that.)
So no, they did not do that just to screw up other teams. They did it because they wanted those players and had nothing else but Jeremy Lamb and...Kevin Martin?Comment

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
What did you guys think we were going to do?
Melo wasn't coming here and LeBron damn sure wasn't coming here.
What was we suppose to do throw a max at Gordon Freaking Hayward, Chandler Parsons? Go after contract year Ariza, offer Bledsoe an offer sheet Phoenix would match?
Who the hell really wants to play for Jim Buss. He's proven himself to be a stubborn idiot, hell we still don't even have a coach and we gave an injured Kobe another big contract mid season.
Will continue to look bad for years until we get lucky. Won't be no stealing other team stars, reloading what ever the hell u want to call it going on no more and this is what needs to happen.Horseshoes & HollyWoodComment

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
not sure if anyone said what else happened with isaiah to phoenix.
per woj/realGM, its a SnT
The Kings will receive a $7 million traded player exception, along with the draft rights to Alex Oriakhi.
Sam Amick reports that the Suns envision a three-guard lineup of Eric Bledsoe, Goran Dragic and Thomas.
---that 3 guard combo...has to put the fear into the western conference.

You know he wasn't coming to LA after James Worthy dissed him to his face in the meeting.Comment

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
It's also a fact that Asik was a moreyball player. That they had liked him for some time.
They signed Lin thinking he had potential to be a great player and Asik too. They did not do it just to screw up other teams. That makes no sense in actuality, that you'll take on a bad contract just to mess up a team in a separate conference no less.Comment
