...and OKC, Durant should bolt that team first chance he gets. They've done a similarly bad job. Free agency is always a fail for them and they're keeping Brooks.

Who would've thought though, LeBron gets to the finals and goes to a lesser team. Melo misses the post season and stays with the lesser team.
Depending on how things pan out the rest of the offseason, this is debatable.

If it was only the money why didn't he sign Thursday? People are now acting like dude was never weighing any options, and Bulls fans on another site are just going back to "well he's just selfish anyway". It's a given that the money was huge, I can't imagine anyone leaving 50+ mil on the table, but there clearly were other factors in the decision. He didn't wait this long just to make Phil sweat.

I don't see how Anthony is an idiot. It's been widely reported Chicago offered him significantly less than the Knicks.

Wouldn't it be cool to see some of the lesser teams play on Christmas Day? Get some of the names out there, give them a national stage to make a name for themselves. People are going to watch either way.

I have more confidence in Silver allowing this than Stern, but the way they're going... that makes too much sense.

Now they have ads on summer league jerseys, so we know what the nba is still all about.

                  Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread

                  Christmas games? Give me:

                  Cavs v Heat
                  Nets v Raptors
                  Clippers v Warriors
                  Spurs v Suns
                  Rockets v Thunder

But that's probably too many west coast games.

The ads really don't bother me, it's not going to take away from the experience of watching the games.

The point was its still a league with money first as a priority over giving exposure to more teams in the league.

Anthony Morrow has agreed to join the Thunder, giving Oklahoma City a 3-point shooter and depth on the wing. Story coming soon.
I guess Jeremy Lamb will never get fully developed there.

Because a higher CHANCE of winning the championship trumps 50 million dollars.

I thought we didn't like guys that chase rings? What happened? LeBron goes to the Heat and now if you don't bolt to a super team immediately you're just dumb. He wants to win...everybody wants to win. Maybe he wants to win one for NY. Maybe he wants to be the guy that's the reason for the chip. Maybe he pre-heats the oven to 425 for his Pizza Rolls instead of putting them in the microwave for a minute and a half.

Money is always the first priority in any business or professional sports league.

It's fair to say they don't give enough exposure to enough teams though.
