We do desperately need shooters and guys that can put the ball in the basket off the bench though.

EDIT: I don't think he's an insurance policy though, ex. I think they want him as part of their bench.

Because now they only have 6 perimeter wings, which means each one will have to average 16 minutes a game. Obviously that's too much to ask an NBA player making millions of dollars.

No doubt he can't hurt. Didn't say it was a bad signing by any means, just a crappy consolation prize to Parsons. Could still get Lance too so we will see

I don't think it's a consolation prize for Parsons. The Mavs are going to need to fill out their roster with minimum contracts whether they get Parsons or Stephenson or not.

Yeah, can't imagine Trix feels good about the Mavs signing someone that plays his position before they even know about Parsons yet. That's probably the nail in his coffin for his time as a Mav. Probably.
