Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
I think he's saying Lakers get Boozer and Dunleavy while they send a first rounder to Chicago.

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
No I meant take a pick back as compensation for taking Boozer's horrible contract. Do you think the Bulls would rather have Melo or a guy who at best will turn into a serviceable role player or starter? This is of course all under the assumption that the Bulls are too cheap to amnesty Boozer, because otherwise I understand why that trade might seem stupid.

But yeah, for a first round pick if Melo is signing on, the Bulls would do that in a heartbeat.Comment

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
I've been hoping they tank to keep that pick ever since this years season ended. As long as the contracts are for 1 year, take on as many as we can because it just means an empty roster next year."This is for all of my peoples who understand and truly recognize. Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
24th, I seen you ask me this in the Spurs-Thunder thread but I figured I post my response to it in here.
I do think they need to make some minor tweaks(one already takes care of itself with transitioning from Perkins to Adams)and to improve their bench but that moreso comes from developing and playing your bench guys, especially if they're young. The core of the team is fine and actually think it would be counterproductive to break that up considering that in 2 years, Durant will can become an UFA.
My fault for the late response, BTW.#RespectTheCultureComment

Just seeing this but I changed my stance regarding Brooks about a month or so before the playoffs started. I do remember that me and Ex(since we were pretty much his only supporters on here for the past few seasons)both flipped on him around the same time since I started to believe that the team had gone as far as it could with him as HC. My choices to replace him are Alvin Gentry or George Karl since I think most of their issues are on the Offensive side of the ball.

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
I don't know if it's slow development though because we seen guys like Jeremy Lamb and Reggie Jackson sit in their first year and go back and forth between the D-League but then once they were in the league full time, they got the opportunities and then played their way into becoming reliable rotation players. Part of developing your bench is trusting guys and letting them play through mistakes since that'll be one of the only ways they can grow as a player.
Lamb was in the rotation for half of the season and then was on the bench and didn't get off towards the end of the season(who knows why)while Reggie remained there. Might've played his way into a starting spot depending on what they do at SG this offseason. Perry Jones is another one who at one point was getting consistent PT during the season and then was never heard from again.#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
Some quotes from Larry Bird's end of season presser:
Like when asked about coach Frank Vogel’s job being safe despite rumors he was coaching for his job these playoffs. “There was never any doubt. When the media 800 miles away or 1,000 miles away just writes a story and everybody gets all excited about it, it doesn’t make no sense to me. If you had come and asked me I would have told you, I did tell you, his job was safe….
“His job was never in jeopardy.”If no changes are coming to the coaching staff, what about to the core of a roster that has struggled to score enough offensively even when things are going well?
“I don’t think so. I like the attitude of our guys, they’re great people, great to be around. As far as the bench, Frank and I will sit down and Kevin (Pritchard, team GM) and talk about it. Last year we went out and changed our bench again, they were up and down.”s Lance Stephenson going to be back in Indiana next fall? “Well you don’t know, he’s a free agent and can do whatever he wants. But obviously we will talk about it the next week or two, of our game plan… He’s a free agent, he can talk to any team he wants, and when it comes down to it, it comes down to whether he wants to be here or not.”
Does Bird want him back?
“I always want him back. You just don’t let talent like that walk away if you can help it.”

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
tbh the only person from the Pacers that should be on the trading block is George Hill. The other 4 should remain in tact. I think all they need is some kind of therapy bonding session over the off-season. I mean just 6 months ago, they were considered the best team in the league and the majority of that reason is most likely internal/off-court dramas. Heck they can even keep Hill and just try to sign some depth during the off-season- particularly a facilitator and someone that can provide bench scoring. Some guys they could target include Ramon Sessions, Luke Ridnour, Nate Robinson or Steve Blake.Comment
