Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
They aren't competing but that doesn't mean they're tanking. Boozer is a good pick up for the price and Lin is better than what they had last year in Steve Blake, Kendall Marshall and Steve NashComment

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
This lineup competes for an 8th seed in the east, it's sad that that's considered tanking lol
Lin/Nash/Marshall
Bryant/Clarkson
Young/Kelly
Boozer/Randle/Davis

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
Just because they suck don't mean they are tanking. So many people don't understand that I guess. They were trying to get Carmelo, is that tanking? Boozer & Lin are decent players too.

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
That lineup would definitely compete for a spot out east tho.

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
You don't think if the '09 Cavs were dangling Blake Griffin, or John Wall in '09-'10, they wouldn't get any top player interest? The first pick of the draft is a pretty big deal. I could see if Love was outright signing there (which he may end up doing)..but it's a different situation IMO.
EDIT: I meant "cashing that chip in" as
making that point
I think we're debating two different things here or something. The number 1 pick doesn't have anything to do with Kevin Love being willing to sign an extension in Cleveland. He knows what he's worth and he knows what they'd have to give up in a trade to get him. LeBron is the best player in the world. No player is sitting around nixing a trade that would send them to LeBron's team because the number one pick in the draft would have to go back in the trade. Players of their caliber care about playing with proven guys. LeBron is proving that by the thought that he's okay with moving Wiggins for Love (allegedly). Love has expressed that he'd be willing to sign an extension for the Cavs, that's basically the whole point of the discussion. What they'd be giving up to get him doesn't matter in he discussion of his willingness to sign an extension.

Oh I get you, I just don't see the similaritys between the Cav's this year and in '09
but well revisit if the trade actually goes downComment
