Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
The only plus scenario from that bench is that Thompson can actually play some minutes as a C or PF, that's pretty much the sole upgrade to their bench as a result of this trade.
If they sign Marion it's a pretty good pick up because he can play some SF or PF and give some defense, but a back court rotation of Dellavedova, Miller, and Jones isn't exactly championship bench material.
Hopefully Joe Harris can give some sort of immediate impact in a small role as a rookie.Comment

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
probably closer, but as a 5-10 minute guy imo
he should still be the back 2gaurd but i honestly feel they need other things than a dinosaur shooter
now that wiggins is going to be the #1 guy, i hope he turns into this superstar/hof he was hyped to be, for the sake of making the west even harder lol...but its ok he wont be in minny past his contract

Mike Miller had his best year last year when he nearly shot 46% from 3. The guy is still a great passer, and while his defense suffers, he's still a very good role player.
James Jones is probably one of the best shooters in the NBA. Definite role player, but sufficient in a 3-5 minute run.
Perhaps if the Cavaliers do trade for a real life center, moving Thompson back to PF, and Marion to SF, they would look much better. As of now, they could win a title with that bench, no doubt.Too Old To Game Club

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
Considering the Cavaliers don't have to give up several draft picks and instead likely the Miami 2015 pick they have, it's a great deal. Love will instantly replace and far outproduce Anthony Bennett. Obviously losing Wiggins sucks, but gotta give something up to get something.
The Cavaliers still have a ton of young assets and picks. It's amazing. This team, with the addition of Marion, is going to be...just loaded. They can go nearly 2 deep at each position and be okay.
Kyrie/Delly
Waiters/Miller
James/Jones
Love/Marion
Andy/Thompson
Wow.
That Love 5 year/120 deal is nice because once the new TV deal bumps the cap up to 90-95 million that will actually be below market value.
Im sad about losing Wiggins and I was looking forward to see Bennett's improvement this year, so Ill be rooting for them in MinnyComment

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
no doubt? there is plenty of doubt, show me how this team is anything but the miami team and we saw what happened with them
your getting what, 25-30 points tops from that bench if everyone plays at their max level
throw in 60 a night from the big 3, + 20 between waiters/vary and your getting about 100 a game, and this is assuming these guys stop shooting 40% with lebron on the team...and not to mention theyll give up 100 a game if kyrie/waiters/love are all starting lol...lebron is great on D but he cant guard 5 guys at once...oh and what happens when vary gets hurt like usual
now if they can keep waitiers on the bench (i say start marion/bron on the wing, its unconventional but show me how it cant work...) and get him to buy into a 6th man come be our jamal crawford role, THEN we start getting to the no doubt they could win it areaLast edited by turty11; 08-07-2014, 09:38 AM.Comment

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
A starting lineup of Kyrie/Miller/LeBron/Love/Varejao is scary. Waiters and Thompson off the bench will be great too, assuming that Miller's starting.
That team desperately needs a rim protector though.Twitter: @TyroneisMaximus
