How good could Jordan have been?
I was just wondering how well everyone thinks Michael Jordan would have been if he'd playedin his prime with the zone like today's NBA players do.Favorite Teams:
CFB: Ohio State Buckeyes
NFL: San Francisco 49ers

Just as good. The guy was way better then any guard in the NBA right now. -

Re: How good could Jordan have been?
He would have been as good if not better. He had a jump shot which is what the zone forces you to. Plus the zone can cause guys to come open which would allow Jordan to hit the open guy a lot. It would have made the Bulls way better since they didn't have a center.Comment

Re: How good could Jordan have been?
Just as good. At least, much better than any current player.
Also, he shot way more jumpshots when he came back. He used to drive a lot and back then when the D was allowed to be much more physical than today. (but his jumper was money) Sure the athleticism has improved on D but there's enough evidence to show he would have been just as amazing. Also, he was such a competitor that he would have adjusted and dominated in any way possible. Even during his grandpa days he still thought he could dominate (and on occasions, still did). He's light years ahead of the next best guards. Always will be.Comment

Re: How good could Jordan have been?
To compare Jordan to ANY guards in today's game (including Mr. Kobe) is assinine due to the fact that Jordan CONSTANTLY faced double and triple teams and BEAT them night in and night out. He also faced defense that was very physical and referees that did not call as many fouls as they do today. He also shot 50% from the field in almost every year he played, with the exception of when he returned from his first retirement. Nowadays, the best guard, namely Kobe, is NEVER double teamed (even on the last second shot tonight) and he still can't shoot above 43% from the field. ESPN analysts constantly compare Kobe to Jordan simply because without the comparisons, the NBA would not be what it is. The NBA needed another Jordan and Kobe was the closest thing to it. And he still isn't ANYWHERE close. Never will be.Comment
