There's a shared difference with all these guys mentioned, including Lebron James. They all were pushed to be the next Jordan at the beginning of their careers. About 8 yrs later, and Kobe's still getting the comparisions, from guys like Doug Collins and Phil Jackson nonetheless.

Re: How good could Jordan have been?

People complain about Kobes amount of shots but I seem to remember nights that Jordan would take 40 shots or more. Lots of people remember Jordan in the championship years but I remember when they were losing in the playoffs and he would go 1 on 5 all the time . Granted he did not always have all star teammates but Pippen and Grant were good players.

I know all the Jordan lovers will attack me. I agree he was the greatest player I have ever seen but he was not perfect as many people seem to remember. Yes, I am a little biased as Isiah Thomas was my all time favorite player. Just my opinion on the subject.

Triple h, when Jordan was going 1-on-5, he had no choice. his teammates couldn't throw the ball in the ocean! People like Dave Cozine, Charles Oakley, and Orlando Woolridge, they were sub-par players. But once Jerry Krause and Jerry Reinsdorf put players around Jordan, he won. And won. And won! If he didn't retire, he would have undoubtedly won 8 consecutive titles. Plus, when Jordan was going 1-on-5, on many nights, his team still came out on top and even made it to the playoffs with a bunch of scrubs, and this was back when basketball was still a fundamental game with players who could consistently hit open jumpers. Kobe on that same Bulls team would never make the playoffs. I'm sorry, but I cannot see any reason to ever compare Kobe to MJ.

The Bulls were making the playoffs without Jordan or Kobe. I take it you think Kobe would actually make them lose more game than they'd win without him. "To succeed in life, you must use your head."

Here we go again with this Kobe vs. Jordan debate. Put Kobe on a NBA team without Shaq then we'll see how great he is, dont get me wrong, kobe is an excellent player, but he gets a bit more credit than he deserves. Yall saw how The Lakers managed last year when shaq was out for like the 1st 10 games. Hell, ill take Tmac before Kobe, and you want to compare him to jordan.....Lets be serious

I wonder why no one ever says, "Put Shaq on a team without Kobe, or a team without a great SG for that matter"

Yea, we saw what the Lakers did without Shaq, 3-9, but we also saw that when Shaq returned, it took LA til after allstar break to get above .500. Face it, the rest of the team was just horrible the first half of the season. But when they started playing well, towards the end, Shaq sat out a couple of games, and Kobe went like 4 out of 5, averaging 40 pts per and shooting over 50%.

And the fact that you think Mcgrady is better than Kobe speaks volumes.
