Look at you're keyboard. I don't check what I type in Word after every post, because I don't expect morons to judge what I say based on typos I produce. You seriously need to grow up. Your last comment has nothing to do with the topic.

                  Re: How good is Kobe?

T-Mac fans really hate Kobe Bryant. It must suck when they skip the T-Mac comparisons and go straight to MJ. Should tell ya'll something. Coaches (Doug Collins coached MJ in Chicago), Media guys who covered games from way back in the day....these guys can't find one guy to compare Kobe to in the present NBA.

Please can somebody discredit Magic and Bird, just once. Say Magic is nothing without Jabbar and Worthy, say Bird is nothing without McHale and Parish. Say it, than realize how stupid you sound.

Pippen might have been the best perimeter defender in the League, Kerr was the best three point shooter, Kukuc could average 20pts per game, Rodman was the best rebounder and one of the best post defenders in the NBA. Give this team some credit will ya. Jordan did nothing by himself.

Chicago minus Jordan is much better than Lakers minus Kobe.

                        Re: How good is Kobe?

These non-sensical comparisons between Kobe and Jordan have GOT to stop now! When Jordan was playing, defenses were a lot tighter, double and triple teams were EVERY NIGHT, and the referees let them play. And MJ STILL shot above 50% from the field every single year before his first retirement. Night in and night out, MJ would face double teams and triple teams and he would still score over 35+ points every night. For heaven's sake, Jordan almost SINGLE-HANDEDLY defeated the Boston Celtics when the Celtics had Bird, Ainge, Parish, McHale, and Dennis Johnson while the Bulls second best player was Dave Cozine! Put Kobe in that situation. Come on, fellas. The Celtics of those days woulda mopped the floor with him if he was on that team. Plus, as I said before, Jordan shot 50% from the floor every year facing constant double and triple teams every night. Kobe can score 30 points getting single coverage every night because of the zone defense. The fact remains that the league changed the rules because the scores were going down and they were trying to promote offense. By legalizing the zone defense, they figured every team would play zone, thus allowing players like Kobe to face single coverage and score at will. Jordan did not have that luxury. Plus, Kobe constantly gets open looks because of Shaq! Shaq is the most dominant center ever to play. How could you possibly compare Kobe to MJ?
Personally, I think many of the people on these boards don't remember Jordan because his prime was back in the late 80's and early 90's. They don't remember Jordan scoring at will against ANY defender and winning games by himself. They don't remember all of the buzzer-beaters and fade-aways. All they remember is what they see today, which is Kobe shooting 42% from the field in an NBA saturated by players that would be warming benches in the 80's and early 90's. Before putting Kobe on MJ's level, perhaps he should pass people like Bird and Magic, which he hasn't done and probably never will do. The NBA is doing everything in its power to find a replacement for Michael Jordan because Jordan made the league profitable. Kobe is the closest thing to MJ now, hence they constantly tell the NBA analysts to promote MJ comparisons so people will be interested. Believe it or not, this is the way a business-oriented league like the NBA works. Without Jordan, the Bulls won 55 games and lost in the second round of the playoffs. With Jordan, they won 6 titles. Without Kobe, the Lakers STILL are in the NBA finals because of Shaq. But without Shaq, the Lakers struggle to get past the second round. That is a fact!
I know all of you want to believe that Kobe will someday be as good as MJ, but the fact remains that MJ was a freak of nature that comes around once in a lifetime. Kobe does not have that will to win, that fire, that determination to not allow anyone to beat him. Kobe is very talented in a watered-down NBA. But put him in the 80's and early 90's and he is another Dominique Wilkins, an individual player with good moves, but simply not good enough to ever warrant a comparison to the greats. When you think of the individual stats, individual awards, team awards, talent of teammates, and ability to take over a game single-handedly every night while constantly facing double and triple coverage, MJ is better than Kobe (and any other player EVER) in ever category. And he is better by a LANDSLIDE!!! Before making ridiculous comparisons, perhaps you should not only look at stats, but actually rent some games Jordan played in, especially playoff games. He simply would not allow his team to lose. Ever with players like Cozine, Oakley, and Woolridge. Pippen was a solid sidekick player, but he was NEVER close to great. Shaq is! There is no comparison to MJ and anyone else.
