Last time I checked, U dont have to be that atheletic to play hockey. Just need to know how to ice skate and handle a puck, lol. Oh, and how to fight.

But anyway, I think what Bird was talking about being insulted by having a white guy guarding him. I think he was saying, since most of the bast atheletes in the world and the NBA are black, usually, they're the best defenders. You've never seen a white dude when DPOY have U? He was insulted because the other coach didnt think enough of him to put a good(supposedly black) defender on him, because Larry Bird, himself, was white. Thats how I read it.

Damn, this is ********. I read it on ESPN earlier today, and I thought nothing of it. I hate how things get blown up all the time. Just like this low-carb crap that's going around. Every damn thing is low carb now. People like to go overboard on everything.

To me, Bird has a point. More white superstars in the L would bring in more white viewers. Or at least get more white folk interested in it. You have Dirk and Peja, but I don't know how people view them, since they are Euro's. You have Yao, who brings in tons of asian folk to watch the game now. It is what it is. And it's not that big of a deal.

Ok, thats fine, but when I think atheleticism...I think running, jumping, agility, flexibility. Things like that. I guess balance can fit in there but I dont think ice skating is being atheletic. Plenty of people can roller skate but they're nowhere near atheletic. At least, thats how I view atheleticism. Maybe other people view it differently.
