Rudy Gay is replacing KD on Team USA

Rudy Gay, a member of USA Basketball’s gold medal-winning FIBA World Championship team in 2010, was added to Team USA’s roster Friday.

USA Basketball managing director Jerry Colangelo said Thursday it was considering adding a player after Kevin Durant opted to depart due to fatigue from last season and his off-season commitments, and Gay was the choice.

Team USA’s 16 players will resume training in Chicago on Aug. 14-15 and conclude with an exhibition contest against Brazil on Aug. 16. The final roster will feature 12 players when Team USA opens World Cup of Basketball play in Spain against Finland on Aug. 30.

That's a great addition. He's played already and knows his role on this team. Team USA is going to a need a total team effort to pull this one out.

Just saw something about Boogie hurting his leg. Hope it isn't serious.

Also love how Derrick Rose is like I don't want to be near that. I got my own problems lol

Good news. MRI shows no structural damage to Cousins' knee. Listed as day to day.

Yeah there is a lot of potential on that team. Keep up with the names Harry Giles and Jayson Tatum. They are from the 2016 class but both are going to be fantastic players.

Good, I was hoping Curry would play more off ball..

I would much rather see DeRozan or Gay or someone starting at SF over Harden though.

Nah I think he will use another big, probably Plumlee. Brazil will probably start Varejao and Nene, right?

That is if Coach K feels like Brazil is good enough to play the matchup game with

We'll see. If anything I would like to see Faried start.

Coach K goes with speed and small ball more than anything, despite opposition. He doesn't go by matchups. That's why I think he'll go with a smaller, more skilled player at the PF spot
