      Re: Kobe Speculation

West was quoted this past weekend saying that Kobe is his "number 1 priority". I think it would have to be a sign and trade and include Pau. Should be an interesting offseason though.

I hope not, especially if he didnt rape that girl. I think alot of his trial status will affect different teams in signing him.

Are you saying that even if he did rape that girl, you hope he doesn't end up in a cell? I'm sure that's not what you meant.....

I myself think the smart money is squarely on Kobe being acquitted (whether he did it or not), so I don't think that the trial will have much of an effect on teams signing him. Maybe teams will put a clause in his contract voiding it if he is convicted (although I'm sure the agents would never let that happen).

I seem to think he and Shaq won't play together next year. Some way I don't see Shaq getting the ball enough to without Phil backing him up to satisfy him. Mr liquor Jerry Buss is on Kobe's side first.

Somehow I can't see Kobe playing in Memphis. He basically forced Charlotte to trade him to the Lakers, I can't see him trying to ball in a smaller market. Plus, where's that wife of his gonna spend his money? I'm sure Memphis is cool (planning to visit one day), but how many Beverly Hills boutiques do they have?

I would have said the same thing before Jerry West came to town. However, Jerry's wife and son have stated many times that they love Memphis's laid-back atmosphere compared to LA on numerous occasions and are involved in the community. Maybe that is what the Bryant's want after this adultry fiasco. They just might think a change of scenary will do them well.
