    once...twice...three times a laker

Without question, the Lakers' chances of retaining Bryant have been enhanced considerably.

    Question is, at what cost?

Legitimately worried that Bryant would leave the Lakers for the Clippers in free agency, Buss is attempting to appease Kobe's every wish -- starting with a new coach and, therefore, and a new offense. Publicly stating in mid-season his intentions to build around Bryant and then cutting ties with Jackson three days after the season ended were persuasive first steps.

Is Shaq really going to be traded?

Team sources told ESPN.com that Lakers general manager Mitch Kupchak will indeed attempt to honor O'Neal's request for a trade -- though Shaq has been convinced for months that the Lakers were planning to explore trading him anyway.

The real question, down the line, would be: Who will regret it more?

    Shaq?

    Kobe?

    Or Buss?

Kobe is 25/26? I like where he is now. He's been notorious as a worker especially during the summers. Once he gets this trial out of the way and gets back into that Gym, we will see a bigger, stronger player.

The one thing that I saw in the Pistons series is that Kobe isn't as quick as he used to be. I don't know why, it's not like he's old, but he wasn't the same Kobe.

I think he should play the three and play more in the post. But if he stays a laker, we will finally see kobe coming off back screens, double screens, post back to the basket, pure iso. He will no longer have to handle the ball 25 feet from the basket. Get him closer to the basket, he's got the arsenal of moves (fadeaway, scoops, up and unders, pump fakes) and should get him to the line more (where's he a good free throw shooter).

I expect Kobe to average 35 pts a game on 45% shooting, limited three point attempts, 6 foul shots a game, 3-4 assists and 8-9 rebounds. Assists down and rebounds up. No more juking from 30 feet trying to get into the lane. Isolate him on the wing, 18 feet from the basket, and he's going to be deadly.

Go get him some big athletic guys (K-mart, Swift, Okafor). Bring the showtime back to LA. What happens if the Lakers get a big guy like Gasol who can shoot. We'll see Kobe run a pick and roll for the first time.

The championship runs were good while it lasted, now it's time to rebuild. I want the Lakers to play more like the T-wolves. Can run, can defend, and can play in the half court.

            I'm getting excited!

the thing is, with shaq's contract itis hard to get an equal trade when you need like 5 players to equal his $$$.

Take Memphis: O'neal, Rush and 27th for JWill, Stro, Pau, Battier, and Bo Outlaw

Memphis is one of the only teams deep enough to make it work.

Re: Is it true. Shaq has demanded a trade??

I think Shaq is speaking out of frustration right now. If the Lakers can get Rudy T, then Shaq would probably re-consider. This is going to be a horrible off-season for Kobe, because whatever move that the Lakers make, bad or good, people will blame it on Kobe.

Phil Jackson was most likely going to leave win or lose. He is pretty much done with coaching for at least 2 or 3 years. I don't think it is because of Shaq, or Kobe, or Gary, or whatever. He feels that it is time to move on, and coaches can't coach forever. Plus, I think it is time for the Lakers to try out a new coach. If we did bring back Phil, he would use the triangle, and defenses have now figured out the triangle. It will not last for long.

Mithc Kupchak, right now has no idea what he is doing. Getting Shaq angry was the worst possible move he could have made, and he accomplished that. Out of all of the things that he needs to do to make the Lakers better, he does the one thing that could destroy the Franchise. If it is a MUST to trade Shaq, then they better make a trade that makes it worth while.
