wait, how does Kobe fit in with the Spurs? Do the Spurs even have cap room for him?

    <hr /></blockquote><font class="post">

Spurs have the fifth most cap space of any team, maybe even fourth after Atlanta signs its rookies.

Spurs might lose Ginobili, and even if they dont, he'd be an excellent backup to Kobe. You can never pass up having two MVP candidates who play different positions on the same team, its the same as it was with Kidd.

He already had plenty of endorsements being in L.A. They took them away when he did what he did in Eagle, Colorado.

Your a silly dude, first off LA ain't NY and if he did play here in NY, there would be people flocking to endorse him. He would make so much money in NY without playing basketball. NY is more marketable then LA any day.

L.A. didn't hurt his endorsement deals. Just by him being a Laker, period made him an endorsement giant.

And you're mistaken if you don't think L.A. doesn't have as much endorsement potential as NY.

The one thing this trial has done for Kobe is gotten his star back. If you remember, june of 2003, Kobe was yesterday's news. Company's were in the process of dropping him. Sprite was going to Lebron. Lebron got the big Nike contract. Kobe was no longer a champion and was on the sidelines watching.

Then the scandal breaks and now Kobe is more popular than ever. He will (weird as it is) come out of the scandal in better shape than he entered it.

His endorsement value is like the value of Dwight Howards next contract - Has potential to make a fortune but right now there is a lot to prove.
The expected innocence verdict AND a strong showing in the upcomming playoffs maybe both necessary for the quickest return to top dollar.

He could could buy a hotel on madison avenue - no one wants to run adds while there is a rape trial and any chance no matter how slim of being convicted of raping a woman.
Sure people want to sign him , but even if he was willing to ink a longterm marketing deal his current value is moderately less then what it used to be.

Kobe has the best agents money can buy , trust that they are going to have a clear understanding of his value in various markets (including NEW YORK) and they will use that knowledge as best they can as leverage even if he wasn't planning on leaving the state of california

As for Kobe playing in Denver...

I think his ego is so huge he doens't care about the people there in Eagle county that want to hang him for using their dirty little girl.

I think his ego is big enough he'd buy a house right near Eagle county.

I seriously think his ego is that out of control now.
