    Re: SHAQ ACCEPTS TRADE!!!!!

Wilt Chamberlain was traded to the Lakers for Jerry Chambers, Archie Clark and Darrall Imhoff.

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar was traded to the Lakers for Junior Bridgeman, Dave Meyers, Elmore Smith, and Brian Winters.

Charles Barkley was traded to Phoenix for Jeff Hornacek, Tim Perry and Andrew Lang.

These trades are never even. Rarely do you get all-stars in return for all-stars. Considering that, I think the LAKERS actually did well. They got him out of the conference and they recieved three solid players for him.

      Re: SHAQ ACCEPTS TRADE!!!!!

What's your point? It's how some try to ignore the fact that it will hurt especially the way Shaq was lost.

He didn't even have to leave. He was the sole guy saying if it's a so called dynasty then why break it up. Even Bob Horry and Derek Fisher said this didn't have to go down, and that they should apologize to Shaq. Kupcake screwed up, which wouldn't have happened if J. West was still here, but hey they ran him off too.

Furthermore, I think the Lakers goofed up by putting themselves in such a quandry, but they obviously couldn't lose both guys, which was (and still is) the danger. However, remember, early on some people saying Shaq didn't have any say in this, and that I'm hating on Kupcake because I crticized the way he handled the situation.

Looking back, it's obvious both Shaq and Kobe both had FAR more say than the management. That isn't a good thing, and I don't believe that, or a lot of things would have happened the way they went down if the Logo were still there. That shows you the extent to which things have deteriorated.

Here's my point, Wilt, Kareem, and Charles all made it clear that they wanted out, no matter what the circumstances were, other teams knew that they could not play for there current teams anymore. Of course the LAKERS would not get equal value, especially since there is none for SHAQ. Get past the fact that SHAQ could have came back or that Jerry West is not there. Get over it. You act like the Lakers were the defending champions. The team had to broken up. And given the choice I would take Kobe.

I personally dont care for the Lakers at all. I just think what you mentioned has nothing to do with this particular situation. No there is no equal value for Shaq but as Laker fans have been spouting is he old and declining or is he enough to demand an all-star? Contrast to what they are about to get, and they may lose Kobe along with that.

al of these trades ended up being good for the teams
receiving the star, and so will this one. what did the
                        teams receiving 3-4 guys accomplish?

b grant is washed up(with a huge contract of his own),
c butler is questionable if he returns to pre-injury form ,
and odom is above average. miami comes out the winner by far.
la will not come close to winning the west w/ those guys.
kobe could still opt to play w/ brand, maggette, etc also. miami
(or any other east team) becomes a contender in the east w/ shaq.
