Just curious and a little Off topic...If the Clippers did sign Kobe to a MAX deal, would they have enough to match Q's deal as well?

Re: SHAQ ACCEPTS TRADE!!!!!
I think Kobe should go to the clip joint...
Honestly i think with Brand,Maggs and Levingston in about 2 years they will be big time favorites for an NBA title...
The team would also be willing to move to OC just for him to sign there...
The Clip Joint also has a better future IMO than the Lakers...
Lineup in a few seasons:
Liv
Kobe
Maggs
Brand
Kaman
Looks alot better than
close to retired GP
Kobe
Odom
Grant at 35?Walton? Slava?
Unknown
There would be alot of unknowns on that Lakers teamComment

Re: SHAQ ACCEPTS TRADE!!!!!
Thanks for the stats. = Of course stats can be misleading but they do indicate a general idea about what happened.
I think there are a few issue involved here =
#1 shaq has always had the new-school against him. - Young fans are quick to tear into him for his perceived lack of skills. He shoots worse then most fans from the line. He doesn't dribble and he shoots like a shotputter with only a prayer pasy 5feet. His dominance is seen as someone who is "just big" or "just" physically gifted. Some of these fans tend to resent that.
#2 Shaq hasn't had a bunch of titles lately
-These critics miss out on the fact that Shaq was in better shape for the playoffs this past season vs Hou,SA,Det then he had been in 3 years. He still displayed explosive quick bursts that are the signature of his power=moves. That type of quick power moves are so rare for any bigman , much less a 350lb one. He did make a mistake a couple years (im guessing it was 2 , couldve been 1 or 3 also) years ago when he tried to coast durring the season and get in shape just in time for the playoffs. Not only did that hurt the teams chemistry , it hurt the respect factor that comes with being a top rank regular season team , and interesting it was a situation in which Kobe was granted basically control of the regular season. I think Kobe deserves a lot of criticism for last playoffs because shaq did his part - he was in shape and playing aggressively. Kobes 2 points of criticism are that He didn't take advantage of the times when Shaq was playing unstoppable(when a guy is shooting like 60-70% then obviously the other players should get him more shot attempts until his percentage starts to fall off - thats a basic rule of ball distribution"feeding the hot hand"), and 2 Kobe wasn't able to step up to another level even though the situation was screaming for it at times. Detroit played masterful defense with all the right talent for the job , but Kobe couldn't find a way to exert any dominance in fact he disapeared a couple times...
and he is 32.
Shaq has lost a half step , but he is still far above the other bigman in ability. He has taken more of a pounding then any player maybe ever in the nba. There is always the risk of an injury that would be difficult to bounce back from without losing another half step. Other then Injury Shaq should remain as the number 1 big (and player) ahead of duncan for at least 2 seasons , and if he stays motivated he could stretch that to 4. I think 2 more is realistic , and then you will see shaq as simply an allstar and the decline will be on.
There were a lot of fans that didn't appreciate shaq 4or 5 years ago when he was maybe at his physical peak - when he was the most dominant any player had ever reached in any season since Wilt - So if the fans didn't appreciate him before , they really aren't going to fathom/understand/appreciate his ability and Impact now(he still has that most dominant title for his career avg, but last year for example i would say would only rank in the top 10 or 15 behind a lot of years by wilt and himself , maybe 2 by mj and others..). You have to think that Shaq could score on Wilt about as well as he does to Duncan with their somewhat similar size/athletics , but wilt was faster with better instincts then duncan and its too hard to compare past eras anyway. The point is certain people have always under-appreciated shaq.
From the standpoint of a fan who is more interested in the strategic elements , the matchups , the charisma and leadership of the the champions , the heart etc... Shaq is a guy I really appreciate , there is just no one like him , I am happy to have seen his career and i am excited about the prospect of him moving to the Heat and Heat ownership making a STRONG push at the championship.
