Is it possible that LA could work a Sign and Trade with Golden State, sending Odom to GS for Erick Dampier?? I only say do this if Kobe and Malone come back, but Dampier playing C would be better than Odom or Butler coming off the bench.

I've been thinking about that Golden State scenario for a while now too...maybe it can happen.

Shaq & Wade are not going to win a champsionship by themselves. The Heat will probably get to the Conference Finals, but that's about it.

I've been a Miami Heat fan since they started in 1988. I'm from Miami and not one person I have talked to is thrilled with this trade! Everyone at first says, "We're getting Shaq!"....then they say, "Why are they trading the whole damn team away for him!" I wouldn't include either Lamar Odom or Caron Butler. They can have Brian Grant, Odom or Butler, and a first round pick.....That's it!

I hate to see Caron or Lamar go! They are our future!

LOL man. The Lakers will get zoned up this year if they keep this squad. No real outside shooters, and only hopes of grabbing guys who aren't all stars or are old. The truth is D4K is right. They should have at least got an all-star. Having Kobe and an all-star would be the start of a good core. I hear Grant has injury issues, and I also hear Carons knees are balky. In the PF heavy west this is an issue man.

GP - Grant arent really reliable shooters, although Kobe is, and streaky bench players mean you have more work to do. Do you trust Kupcake to get you vital pieces right now? Look what he got for Shaq? It would have been more if he had not opened his mouth in the first place.

And the worse part is, they are capped out for a few years.

Wilt Chamberlain was traded to the Lakers for Jerry Chambers, Archie Clark and Darrall Imhoff.

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar was traded to the Lakers for Junior Bridgeman, Dave Meyers, Elmore Smith, and Brian Winters.

Charles Barkley was traded to Phoenix for Jeff Hornacek, Tim Perry and Andrew Lang.

These trades are never even. Rarely do you get all-stars in return for all-stars. Considering that, I think the LAKERS actually did well. They got him out of the conference and they recieved three solid players for him.
