Re: 10/28-11/2 NBA Game Discussion Thread
If we're comparing Kobe's career to MJ's, I think Kobe is doing it backwards, because this most like the Bulls season where Sedale Threatt was the 2nd best player on the team....which was MJ's 3rd year lolComment

Re: 10/28-11/2 NBA Game Discussion Thread
The first two games were ugly to watch for any Lakers fans. But surprisingly, the last two games displayed a Lakers team capable of leading by points during certain moments in the games.
By the end of the 3rd quarter of the Clippers games, the Lakers were leading 90-86.
Kobe stats in the 3rd:
1/2 fg
4 assist
1/2 ft
Rest of the team in the 3rd:
13/20 fg
3/4 ft
So it appears that the supporting cast are capable of scoring.
When Kobe entered the 4th quarter, the Lakers were leading 97-93:
Kobe stats in the 4th:
1/7 fg
1 assist
2/2 ft
Rest of the team's stats in the 4th:
7/13 fg
0/0 ft
Final score 118-111 Clippers win.
Kobe seemed to abandoned passing the ball more and start taking more shot selections which he was inefficient in, which didn't help the Lakers in the 4th quarter.
On to the next game against the Warriors
Kobe stats in the 1st qtr:
2/6 fg
1 assist
2/2 ft
2 turnovers
Rest of the team's stats in the 1st qtr:
13/18 fg
2/2 ft
1 turnover
end of 1st quarter 35-29, Lakers lead
kobe stats in the 2nd qtr:
1/4 fg
0 assist
0/1 ft
3 turnovers
Rest of the team's stats in the 2nd qtr:
6/17 fg
6/8 ft
4 turnovers
end of 2nd quarter 61-55, Warriors lead
Lakers lost their lead, but still a close game
Now Kobe was unstoppable in the 3rd quarter and many would have enjoyed the spectacle he was displaying. And he kept the Lakers still not being too far behind in the 4th quarter. But I think it was what also caused for the meltdown that was later to come in the 4th quarter because the support cast haven't had many chances to get warmed up since the end of the 1st half and Kobe wasn't able to continue his dominance in the 4th. Kobe has got to learn to keep his team flowing when he is hot.
Kobe stats in the 3rd qtr:
9/14 fg
0 assist
0/1 ft
0 turnovers
Rest of the team's stats in the 3rd qtr:
5/11 fg
1/2 ft
1 turnover
end of 3rd quarter 93-86, Warriors lead
Kobe stats in the 4th qtr:
0/4 fg
0 assist
1/2 ft
2 turnovers
Rest of the team's stats in 4th qtr:
5/14 fg
6/7 ft
9 turnovers
Warriors win 127-104
Kobe has got to let his teammates have more opportunities to score more, they are capable of playing better and winning more games if he does this. I thought this team was really bad when I watched their first two games, but now I feel like they're not as bad as everyone thinks they are if Kobe is willing to change his ways.Last edited by ThePPL; 11-02-2014, 05:52 PM.Comment

Lakers suck and it's almost like they get talked about and dissected even more than when they win.

Re: 10/28-11/2 NBA Game Discussion Thread
Lin is the difference. He was completely useless against the warriors but was playing good against the Clippers and took the ball of Kobe. He's the key. When he plays like **** Kobe takes over since there is no other legit ball handler in this team.Comment

Ronnie Price couldn't score either, but at least he can bring a more high tempo offence when he has the ball.Comment

Pack I know what you mean. I don't disagree
Its just awful seeing the team get cold and watch this dude keep this up no matter who comes it's the same narrative.
The offense stats mean nothing at all. It's the defense that's the problemComment

Re: 10/28-11/2 NBA Game Discussion Thread
From Kobe after the Clippers game:
“You have to be able to assert yourself, especially on a team that I’m playing on — especially on a team I’m playing on,” Bryant said with some added emphasis. “Because I don’t want chumps, I don’t want pushovers, and if you’re a chump and a pushover, I will run over you….
“It’s like,” Bryant said during his postgame news conference, then leaned forward and pounded his fist on the table, “you’ve got to put your mark down, man.”
“At some point, you’ve got to piss on the fire hydrant.”#RespectTheCultureComment

Phoenix got exposed defensively. The only guy that they have inside that can come close to protecting the rim is Len, and he had 5 fouls in 15 minutes. We shred them to pieces.
Helps that Hydra and Bledsoe were off their game. And that PJ was out. The Morris twins let Hayward do whatever he wanted on the second half.Twitter: @TyroneisMaximus
