Well, some guys didnt take a liking to the coattail riding like we didnt. Good that it was the flop of the decade, but that was embarrassing. Seems like there is no shame in GPs game though. He stunk and was about to leave, but he's there for the money now. It's funny.

I'm with what Reggie said though. I think Malone should just leave and help his daughter polish her ring to keep it shiny.

How do you ride the coat-tails of a team that weren't the champs? The Lakers were embarrased in the playoffs last season due to lack of depth and were in desperate need of a PG and a PF...and it still wasn't enough. Malone and GP saw that there was a need for their services and I don't consider that coat-tail riding. When PIP joined the Barclay/Olojuwan Rockets...was that riding?

If Malone would have taken a huge cut to join the Bulls in the middle of their dominance, accepting a bench role in the process...that would be pathetic. I think its a matter of contribution. If Malone was 100%, he would have contributed mightily to the Lakers Championship (had they won).

And A.I.'s non-practicing arse doesn't have an INCH of room to talk...

Well, riding the backs of 2 superstar players who have been on top 3 of the last 5 years is considered coattail riding. Perhaps you should ask Malone what he meant when he said that about Byron Scott.

I wouldnt call Pip a rider because he won 6 rings without those guys. If Malone was healthy, if he was this, if he was that. If he hadn't been misdiagnosed by Laker doctors. Truth is, it just wasnt meant to be. He had chances and didnt do it. Oh well. Serves him right for all of the dirty play he and Stockton thought they could get away with for 17-18 years. Karma bit him back pretty good if you ask me.

Bull. 2 Superstars don't mean anything if theres NO dependable role players and you know it. The Lakers were NOT, I repeat NOT a championship calibur team BEFORE Malone and GP signed, PERIOD...

BTW, I havn't seen the Scott comments...what was said?

                  Re: Iverson calls out Malone

It's pretty hard to ride the coattails of a team that didn't win the year before and started players like Samaki Walker, and Jannero Pargo at the 4 and 1. By your logic, no team with superstars should try to upgrade their other positions.

What's sad, is two players went to a team for the right reasons and are being villified for it. What's even sadder is people are cosigning a malcontent who doesn't show up for practice.
