No he did not hurt his team because he didn't bring the drama. Like I said 50% of the league are adulterers so half his team is probably thinking "Wow that could have happened to me."

And how was Kobe supposed to know that sneaking away would lead to him being accused of rape? I'm sure tons of players go places and do things their team has no idea about. You make it sound like if Kobe had told the Lakers he was going up to Colorado for surgery, that none of this would have ever happened.

And even if he informed the team of the surgery and they sent someone with him, do you think he would have been in the same room when the rape allegdly happened?

Yea, they might have still lost to Detroit, but Kobe would have been a lot stronger if he hadn't had that droopy summer. He looked like Reggie Miller at the beginning of the season, and never did get in the game shape that he was in the previous year. It really was a distraction. If he were not in trouble, and in game shape, the Lake Show would have had more time to play those 4 guys together. I even think the cut finger was caused by the angry wife.

Never, and I didnt say they do, but they could have in this instance, because the L sends security with some players no matter where they go. That wasnt even the point of the topic. The truth is, i f they had known, they probably would have been involved in the process one way or another, being he is one of their biggest investments.
