Why is it so important that the games have the right shoes?

I will never understand this. I get that some of you are really into basketball shoes and want to see them in the game. I also understand that some of you want total realism in the games.

My point is why would you want Sega, EA, or Microsoft to take precious time away from making the gameplay perfect or player faces correct, or the arenas correct, just to make sure that Gary Payton had the accurate shoes on. I'm assuming that most people play the game from a view where it is hard to see the shoes clearly anyway.

I have never met a person who bought a game because it had the jordans in it. Live 2002 had real shoes, did that make it a better game than 2k2?

I just dont understand what the big deal is and if anyone wants to enlighten me please do.

P.S. Im not trying to start a flame war, I just really dont understand it

this shoe thing comes up every year. the best thing to do is to let the people that care about it talk about it and go about your business. thats what i do.

I also don't know why shoes are so important. Then again they are important enough to some to be able to sell them at 150 bucks a pair!

Do people just sit there and watch the replys of the game, zooming in as close to the shoe as possible? I guess when I am playing a video game I just don't have the ability to concentrate on what shoe everyone is wearing.

Heck when I am watching the real thing on TV that is the last thing to pop into my mind.

Actually this is the first season I noticed shoes in a long time. Webber was wearing these really ugly shiny purple shoes, and Paul Pierce had the matching ugly green pair.

That is the only time I notice shoes when they are soo hidous you have to notice them.

Yeah i would see these posts and crack up because of the attention that was given to some damn shoes, I think that should be the last thing on peoples minds when it comes to basketball games,

i like the idea of giving players their own individual shoes, makes each player unique, like a signature move

it hardly makes or breaks the game though

some people take an interest in bball shoes some dont, the team i play in, about half of us are always talking shoes, the others dont care, some take pride in their shoes and like to see gamemakers do the same

Yeah, I remember when I was a kid and I got my new Keds I thought I was the fastest kid in school, but that doesn't seem to ring true anymore. They do say, "The shoes make the man." But from what I've seen in my life, they sure don't make the player. This whole thing about shoes is too damn funny. When I show up at the courts, I look for the guy wearing all the gear, because I know 9 times out of 10 that guy can't play. He seems to think that dressing the part will make people think that he can play the game. Anybody see White Men Can't Jump? Remember Billy Hoyle? Never let them see you coming, that's what I always say. So get over your shoe fettish kids and play the damn game!!!

I couldn't care less about the ARENAS.

When you are using a playable camera angle it doesn't make any difference because you can't see the actual structure.

As long as the court is accurate, that will be fine.

All you old folks, no offense, just have to understand, that it's a sneaker generation now. Just as you,as younger children playing games, you always wanted something extra. You got that, and we're getting our kickz. Can't we all just get along?

2k series has always had all 28 (staples center gets double duty) individually modelled arenas.

I dont know about the rest of my generation, but i'm doing all i can to support what i need to right now, at my ripe age.
