Melo is not a shooter. In fact none of these guys on this team are shooters. A shooter is, Mike Redd, Ray Allen, Peja, Dirk, etc.

Most of these guys are around 40% (more or less) from the field in the regular season. Melo's problem is he's not waiting for his shot, he's taking shots over 3 guys, and is taking unadvised ones on breaks.

How is Melo accredited for Boozer's points?? Maybe the first game, but he hasn't rebounded or scored well until the last game.

Well anyway, Stoudamire hasn't played well. Boozer looked better out there then he did. Btw, he was sick the last 2 games and didn't play.

Like I said. Besides Iverson and Dunca, Mello is the only man on the team that can hit a wide open jumper. I said nothing about him being a pure shooter. He's just not a CRAPPY shooter like the rest of those guys.

With the exception of the last game, most of Boozer's pts came from Mello driving to the hoop, pulling in a second defender, than passing to Boozer for a dunk. I agree, he has been selfish though.

Re: Melo is the most selfish player I've ever watched.

In the close games and the game we lost , Melo looked pretty good. He hit some shots and played well.

I didn;t see the recent games that we blew the teams out...

Melo and all these young guys know how dumb the average fan is and they go out with the intent to get the most shot attempts possible. Shot attempts by a good player is the key to maximising dollars in the NBA by that player.
Especially in these sloppy games these guys like melo are going to do the greed thing. They are not apolegetic for anything , they went from not being respected as a man to being a semi-worshiped person because of their basketball business so do not expect a change.
trust me dude is not about to start passing up shots now.

Only LB can control playing time and he absolutley MUST keep as much order as possible(meaning get the guys to play D and to throw the ball into Duncan enough ) , and beyond that in the sloppy games , LB needs to decide if he wants these point hungry guys to stay in there (on one hand in such a game they will keep the lead and keep adding points to their personal performance , or if he should keep subbing and urge the players to "play the right way"...)

Melo is the 2nd worst fg% wise shooter on the team. How is he a better shooter than the other guys?

BTW Odom is our third best player IMO.

His FG% is down because he attempts alot of shots compared to his teammates. AI, for example, doesn't which is why his FG% are pretty hight compared to his NBA stats. One thing I like about Melo's play right now is he's not afraid to make things happen for team USA when they're in a lull, which may contribute to him being "selfish".

What matters though is they play as a team, not just one guy being singled out.

I wouldn't go so far to say that they should have invited Brent Barry or Kyle Korver. But invites should have gone out to Michael Redd, Reggie Miller, and maybe Steve Smith.

Did you guys catch the article over here? http://www.denverpost.com/Stories/0,...337490,00.html

"I don't know what I'm doing wrong," Anthony said after the game. "I'm busting my butt in practice everyday, doing everything right. I don't know - we'll see how it works out."

...Brown, the coach of the U.S. team said he felt Anthony was neglecting the team aspect of play.

Man is this kid clueless. ...and you guys think he'd be starting over Tay in Detroit if Joe Dumars drafted him? I'm pretty sure that if Tay was on this Olympic team, he'd be getting more playing time than Melo. I'm so glad this guy isn't on the Pistons.
