    Re: Dream Dunk Contest

NK beatz, Mike Conley dunked with two hands from the free throw line and he's only 6' 2".

It was one of those dunk contests they had for athletes from other sports during the halftime of college basketball games on ABC.

The thing about Jordan's Free throw line dunk was that he didn't just jump and dunk it. He had the ball cocked back and down by his head and his legs kicking out. Definitely a difference between a Jordan Freethrow line dunk and a free throw line dunk by Brent Barry or Scottie Pippen or any other that I have seen.

    I do Enjoy Vince's Windmills.

That guys is right about James White just read this thing I found on the net, I think it was written by someone from slam mag.

"Now on to the important part: The halftime slam dunk competition featuring James "Flight" White. Now, ive been a Vince Carter fan from day one and stuck with him all of last year when everybody was down on him...i also thought he was the greatest dunker of all time. James White proved me wrong. During his warm up dunks he threw down some sick windmills and a couple off the backboard dunks but this was nothing compared to what would come. He then proceeded with his four official dunks...first was from well before the free throw line with one hand...his second was from well well before the free throw line wiith two hands (vince's two hander was from well within the free throw line)...then came his free throw line windmill dunk which got the crowd into a frenzy...and then came the dunk (which atleast in my opinion earns him the greates dunker ever title) He took off from about a foot behind the free throw line put the ball between his legs(!!!!) then finished it off with two hands...after that the court was mobbed by just about everyone in the crowd."

      Now that is pretty sick

The guy is a great dunker.

BUT, take what you read in SLAM magazine with a grain of salt. That magazine is the biggest hype machine going.
These are writers who would rather talk about an average player who is an incredible dunker than solid, all around basketball player.

This wasnt the mcdonalds all american dunk contest, this is something that happened in toronto, he didnt do the windmill or the thru the legs at the mcdonalds dunk contest. I saw the windmill last year at midnight madness, he killed David Lee there there was no controversey.

i dont believe conley dunked from the freethrow line with 2 , hands...at 6'2"....u absolutely sure he was 6'2"? And was he BEHIND or atleast on the freethrow line..or was he a lil bit over it? I dont believe it...show me some proof, lol.

and for yall that dont know...carter HAS dunked with 2 hands BEHIND the freethrow line in highschool...him goin over in the nba dunk contest was a simple mistake...he is capable of doin it

that james white under the leg dunk wasnt from the foul line to clear that up. he took off from the side..you know where the guys line up when a player is shooting foul shots...i have that tape also...and ive seen it plenty of times....hes a great dunker but he's long as hell compared to carter and j-rich. soon u guys will learn about j-rich for everybody sleepin on the kid. remember this is only his second year coming up. hopefull due to the new nba brocasts on espn and abc now you'll get to see more games of him. the best dunkers in the leauge are him and carter. hands down.

Look, Mike Conley was a Gold Medal Triple Jumper. Were talking about a person who was constantly striving for excellence in one thing... JUMPING. Does that seem so far fetched to you?

Did you even know who he was?

Are you talking about the mcdonalds allamerican dunk contest or this thing that happened this summer in toronto?

sorry, I wasn't very specific. This was Mike Conley I'm talking about.

It was in the 1989 foot locker slam dunk contest.

Yeah, I thought White deserved to win at the McDonald's contest... That two-hander from the free-throw line was nice. Lee's no slouch himself though.
