Re: Team USA vs. Lithuania...for the Bronze

I'd like to see Boozer, Wade, and Lebron as the base for the '06 World Championships, plus Odom if he still wants to play. Let the other 8 spots just be up for grabs to whomever plays the best in '06

int'l ball is good for what it is...every four years, you matter
what the hell were you watching the last 2 weeks? You are correct on the no post up game, but I saw all the others being represented.

one more thing, I'm glad we finally found a way to back pick. With our team speed, we should be able to backpick on a 1-2-2 or 2-1-2 all day long. We showed that today and got many easy buckets.

This team showed more heart than any other US team I saw play. I would rather see this team win Bronze than watch a team that didn't want to be there win gold because it has more meaning to it.

Pau had the best post up game in the tournament. I agree not much else though.
But as far as dribbling skills, you're a joke jordan0386. Watching international basketball since the original Dream Team (I think I even have some old video tapes of these games ), I noticed most teams had trouble dribbling under pressure, but that has improved immensely. You're obviously talking about fancy crossover dribbles or something, because these teams were no worse than the USA in ball handling skills. There are a lot of good passers too. These teams play some great team and zone defense which makes it difficult to make the fancy passes you're probably wanting to see. And as far as the tougness factor and refs enforcing the game, you obviously haven't ever watched basketball outside of the nba. This tournament has been the worst I've seen in my 15 or so years of being a basketball fan. By far. Worst refs ever in fact and that's probably being a little kind. Sure the NBA has bigger, stronger player and more contact but that doesn't mean there's no toughness in other leagues.
                  Stop being so narrow minded.

I agree, although the semifinal with Lithuania in Sydney was one hell of a contest.

Wow, I finally noticed how ugly Marion's outside shout is. He played pretty well today though. Im just glad all this stress is over with and at least we came out with something.
