How would Olympic teams do in nba?

sure usa got beat in the olympic tourney, but i think usa would win big time playing by nba rules. duncan couldn't move without a foul being called. the longer 3 would be huge and the def 3sec would expose their weaka$$ def inside. the euros would find it hard to make the playoffs , imo

of course, because you would be making every other country play with the rules of one league. The NBA is geared toward their product (entertainment) instead of the sport. The Euros would get killed, although I think Lithuania could hold their own.

of course, because you would be making every other country play with the rules of one league. The NBA is geared toward their product (entertainment) instead of the sport. The Euros would get killed, although I think Lithuania could hold their own.

yep, plus teams would get scouted and exposed. The real question is does the NBA need to change there style a bit to mimic the int'l game??? Alot of people seem to think so, but I like it how it is now. There just needs to be an age limit.

The only thing I would like to see changed is the rule on zone defenses. Let's allow them. If you know how to pass and find the open parts of a zone and hit the outside shot, you can beat it.

Zone defense was allowed since 2001. Dallas has used it ever since and get burned by west coast teams every other day. Coaches like Larry Brown are shaky against using it, but when people can't shoot, I'd use it. Fsquid, you dont remember when T-Mac talked about retirement when teams started playing zone against the Magic?

Zone is really going to make some more shooters in a couple of years. Players like Jerry Stackhouse will be extinct unless they develop a consistant jumper.

its a bastardized zone defense. That 3 second rule sucks, let them play the full version. Then players will have to learn to pass, cut, back screen, etc.

if more teams start using zones, more high schoolers will learn how to shoot. IMO get rid of the defensive 3 second in the lane, because that cuts down on driving to the hoop and easily laying it up or dunking.

edit: To answer the question imo argentina would be a bottom 5 team, because in the nba everybody knows their teammates and most teams have those hustle players, which was kinda missing on team usa.
