Re: Western Conference Playoffs - 1st Round Discussion Thread
Their defense has been very non Spurs like, and their inability to make in game adjustments has also been non Spurs like. Mostly regarding the high screen/Horns action the Clippers have been running all series.
Spurs only allowed opponents to score more than 100 points 23 times in non OT games in the regular season and they've already allowed over 100 5 times just in this series.Cubs | Bulls | Dolphins | 'Noles

I'm just not going with the notion that's it's all Spurs and that the Clippers lucked their way into 3 wins. Not saying that's what you said but for the most part, the Clippers have been playing 4 against 8-9 people and their 4 has been just as good as the Spurs 8-9 man rotation, which then they had to be if they wanted any chance in this series.#RespectTheCultureComment

Not disagreeing.

Because generally when the Spurs bench has that large of an advantage against ANY team, they win 9 times out of 10.
It seems like the Clippers finally found a happy medium between force feeding the ball to Griffin, and getting proper ball movement on offense to get other guys going. Something they struggled with at times this season. Sort of the conundrum they ran into when Griffin took that next step offensively. They wanted to get him the ball, but at times were trying to do it too much or times when it didn't make sense.Cubs | Bulls | Dolphins | 'Noles

Re: Western Conference Playoffs - 1st Round Discussion Thread
I wonder what Pop will do at the PG position in Game 7. Parker has looked horrible with the exception being Game 4. Mills is giving them much more offensively but his defense is a liability. Could Joseph get more minutes to help slow down Paul or will Kahwai get the call from the tip. You could maybe steal some minutes with Cory at the 1 and slide Mills over to the 2 if Reddick is in but I'd imagine Marco has earned a few more mins after last night's game. A lot of possibilities for Pop.Comment

No and I'm not saying that it's completely the Spurs letting the Clippers win, but moreso a bit of both. Spurs not playing Spurs basketball defensively and the Clippers playing much more cohesively on offense in that starting unit. There are certainly contributing factors there, Parker and Splitter not being 100%, but also Clippers getting the match ups they want offensively using a screen heavy game plan that the Spurs haven't been able to adjust to.

I guess that's why they finished the season so strongly.. I didn't watch any of their games towards the end of the year so I can't say for sure, but they were playing at a really high level coming into the playoffs.. For how their roster is constructed I would say they are getting pretty close to their ceiling efficient wise.. All they are really missing is a game where JJ and Crawford both play well, rather than just one of them.

Western Conference Playoffs - 1st Round Discussion Thread
Pop may not be so bad off sticking Marco in the starting 5 here. If he only makes one basket in game 7 he'll have completely and utterly outperformed Danny's entire series starting.

I mean, is there a legitimate reason why Joseph has barely played in this series? He outplayed Mills all year, then somehow can't get burn with Parker on the mend.
Puzzling to me.Last edited by JODYE; 05-01-2015, 02:05 PM.Cubs | Bulls | Dolphins | 'Noles

Re: Western Conference Playoffs - 1st Round Discussion Thread
We need Mills scoring, offense couldn't sustain won Cojo in there Game 1
Still don't think we've been that bad defensively.....they have two great finishers, one of which can score (and pass) in the mid post...one of the best floor managers in the league and a deadly shooter running off screens...you give up something and make them beat you that way. If this was a series comprised of us getting blown out, there may be a case....teams with offensive talent are going to score.
Manu definitely needs to give us more in game 7, and yes, more Marco is needed...we still need Danny's defense though...Comment
