Lol, we're in the same boat as the Lakers and Knicks. Our last big FA signing was Steve Nash which was 11 years ago and before that? I don't even know, Barkley was the biggest landing in franchise history and that was via trade. And I don't think Nash was supposed to be as good as he turned out to be for us.

Spurs just seem like a good fit for him. Doesn't look weird or anything.

But they have talent. There's something there.

And everyone is young. It's just a tough sell now because there's no real history of success.

It will need to be another trade or a hit in the draft.

Just need that star. They've got a lot of the rest. I really like that roster and potential. But hard to turn down the Spurs.

So basically the Spurs just locked up two stud players to contracts that are going to look like 3rd option contracts as soon as... next year.

                Spurs.

True. This year they MAY be able to compete for the 8th seed again. Portland drops out of the playoffs but OKC jumps in. I don't think anyone else falls out though at this point. Seeding should be much different but it will probably be the same teams except swap OKC and POR.

It just sucks being a high lottery team, it's hard to get over that hump without acquiring a star, which is damn near impossible to do high in the lottery.

I wasn't really paying attention to the number. Just the jerseys. But I am curious to see what number he chooses now that you mention it.

Spurs are aggressively pursuing free agent David West with a veteran minimum offer now, sources tell Yahoo Sports.

ESPN sources say that Gregg Popovich, as of now, is intent on coaching out his entire five-year contract that he signed last summer
Well Spurs definitely aren't going away anytime soon now for sure...

I wonder if Pop has a little bit of wanting to prove he can do it without Timmy too.

So happy that it finally, finally got done! Rejoice Spurs Nation, we got our man!

Although, he'll be rocking a new number since #12 is retired with Bruce Bowen.

I like David West, but we need to find a developmental big that can block shots and rebound. He doesn't really provide either of those things. Get two more big men, sign a quality wing, bring back Manu and call it an offseason.
