    These contracts are 2K-esque

Role players getting paid 8 figures.

How funny would it be if a cap rise never happens lol

Hey I'm not saying he's worth it or that I would give him that much. I just don't think it's as awful as its being made out to be, especially considering he turned down $12 Mil per from OKC so is that extra $4 Mil he got really hurting them that much? Not like it's stopping them from being able to sign any other FAs.

This pretty much sums up my thoughts on it:

The Pistons rewarded him as a cornerstone player, but it’s hard to imagine anyone else saw him that way and would have bid within $10 million of that total price (if even that high). The Pistons could have let the market set his price and matched it. It’s a cold business, but the Pistons could have saved some money here.

That said, SVG lost Greg Monroe this year to a qualifying offer. He couldn’t risk that again, maybe that motivated the offer.

Also, with the cap about to spike by $40 million or so over two years thanks to the new television deal, the pain from overpaying a little here is not that serious. If he is as good as SVG believes, locking him in at this price will be a steal in a few years.

Yea the league would have to go to ESPN and TNT and say to them, Yea we would like to cancel our new TV deal that we signed with you. Can't see that happening.

Reggie Jackson has been overpaid. Cap raising or not.

I told you guys Reggie Jackson was getting paid by SVG.

Without that trade, dude is not getting that money. But SVG loves him.

Let's see if he can actually be the star player he believes he is.

Forgot he was still in the league. Thought he went back overseas for a min.

Raptors signed Joseph 4 years 30M....Alot more than I thought he'd get. Raptors let Lou go and he got 7M per year,Joseph with 7.5M per year. Is Joseph really better than Lou or something?

Haven't really seen him play, but is he really a guy who could do well playing 15-20 mins off the bench?

                      Star? ?

Pistons confident that they can play Jackson and Brandon Jennings together next season, both on and off the ball.

Point Guard is similar to the stock market for QB's in the NFL. It's a PG league so when you get one you have to do whatever to keep them. 80 million is a lot but it's the going rate for his position. Expect to see a lot more PG's highly paid as we go on.

Well see but he doesn't suck. I think he's better at creating his own shot than for others but he played in the spurs system just fine

It's a $4 Mil difference from what he was offered before he got traded. Safe to say somebody would've paid him just based on "potential" alone, especially for teams that missed out the other big FAs this year.

Do not underestimate the stupidity of NBA GMs especially when you give them access to a lot of money to spend.
