Almost forgot about HOU in the mix of things...have they done anything this offseason? They are going to need to do something about that defense....

Resigned Beverly and Brewer. IMO people are forgetting one of the biggest things this off season was no Beverly our best perimeter defender, and no DMO one of our best overall players. We didn't really need to make any big moves and we just stayed with what we had and added guys from the draft (Dekker who I think with burn will make people forget Smith he's already a better shooter smh)

So wait, Josh Smith turned down more money from Houston to sign with the Clippers for the vet's minimum? Damn, maybe there's something to that Doc using his daughter stuff lol.

Houston could only offer him around 2.5m...he didn't give up a huge amount and he's still getting paid by Detroit for another few years.

I mean....as an NBA player, turning down 2.5 million dollars for 1.5 is a pretty big deal.

He's actually only getting 500K less than he would have in HOU

I'm almost 100% certain that's not right. If they were offering 2.5 million and he took the vet's min then for the time he's been in the league that should be around 1.4 million give or take a few dollars.

It's not like he turned down a 10mil offer to go play with the Clips for the minimum...David West did that and he's applauded for wanting to win? Smith has already earned 100mil for his career...I'm sure 1mil won't hurt if he feels he better fits with LA and can parlay it to something long term next season.

Something about non bird rights exception and what he gets from DET because of it

                                I think he's making 6.5 this year
