Pretty much everyone exceeded my expectations for the 1st game. Also, I have to admit I underrated Russell's passing ability. Dude is a legit walking triple double. He was also pretty disruptive in the passing lanes with his length.

You took the words right out of my mouth. I know they said Russell made the game easier for them doing practice and all,but actually seeing it for yourself is whole other beast.

Clarkson was right on par from last year or dare I say better. Randle played pretty much like a guy who just got over an injury. Once he gets confidence he'll be more active.More than anything imo randle has a high motor.Too bad he don't play tomorrow.

Russell played a very conservative game, good performance by him Randle and Clarkson overall. Lakers future looks bright.Almost forgot, they need to sign Upshaw right now.!!

Towns was double teamed alot early on.When he did get doubled he kicked the ball out really well.showed good passing vision for a big.Shot and made a couple of outside shots.

9fouls was too six fouls too many for this game,he shouldn't have had more then three.Boxed out pretty good also. Levine and Clarkson was the standouts.while Russell and Towns played good as expected,if not a better.

                  Re: 2015 Summer League Thread

Good night from Raptors draft picks in summer league:
                  Bruno:15pts,5/10 shooting(3/5 from 3pt),5 rebounds,3 steals
                  Powell:20pts(8/15 shooting)
                  Wright:9pts,9 assists

And Ronald Roberts was a surprising game(14 points,12 rebounds)

Wright is gonna most likely be on the NBA roster, so putting up numbers like that for a guy who'll be backing up Lowry(depending on how they play Joseph) isn't bad at all, especially for a guy who's known for his defense. He should be one of the most NBA ready players in that draft class since he's 23 already, so hopefully he is.

I saw a couple highlights and one play that really stood out to me was Towns giving a hand off to LaVine who later passed back to Towns for a jumper once his man left to cover the hand off.

If LaVine can keep developing the off guard skills and become a good secondary playmaker I really like the future of this Wolves team.

The defense from Rubio, Wiggins, Dieng, and maybe Towns will be strong, and the spacing from LaVine, Wiggins, Towns will be good as well. I also really liked what I saw from Payne during the regular season last year, he could end up being a steal from last years class. They have a very solid young core.

I can't be the only one who believes D.Blatt should be coaching Summer League. You know, because he needs all the practice he can get.

The only thing I know is that the Timberwolves will be one of the best teams to watch this year, regardless of what Flip does to ruin them.

I would love to know where this narrative that Blatt isnt a good coach came from. During the season the Cavs had a bunch of sets that they ran, and the Cavs were statistically one of the better teams at scoring off of inbounds plays. Cant find that stat right now but I remember seeing a graphic in April or something that showed the percentages.

During the finals they really didnt have an offense, but ISOLebron was the best options. It didnt matter who the Cavs had on the bench in the finals, tey just werent gonna win that series.

It's a narrative that's lazy and always has been. Heard that mess during the season because some folks "didn't see where the hype came from" even though we all said once he got hired that it would take time.

After his SL debut I'm even more convinced that Mudiay's "explosive/elite athleticism" was one of the most overblown pre-draft reports in recent memory.
