The MVP focuses on the individual, while last year showed that teamwork is more important in winning a Title.

Shaq may get league MVP, but I doubt the Heat will win the Finals; I don't even think they will win the East.

        team selfish?

The internal bickering has already started in Minneapolis, with key forward Latrell Sprewell showing his displeasure towards the Timberwolves for failing to work out an extension.

Sprewell said Friday he doesn't plan on rushing back from his ankle injury, and he indicated it wasn't an accident that he missed the team's kickoff luncheon Thursday at the Target Center. Sprewell also indicated that there hasn't been any communication with
Wolves officials in the past week about a possible contract extension, an issue he believes should have been resolved in July.

"There's been nothing said," he said. "I'm just going to see what happens."

Sprewell then missed what was supposed to be a mandatory gathering for the kickoff luncheon, then when asked if he was trying to prove a point, Sprewell said, "Yeah, you can say that."

        Point guard
Sam Cassell, currently battling the flu, was also absent from the gathering.

Sprewell set a Nov. 3 deadline last week to get an extension done or he said he would leave via free agency at the end of the season.

Not good. However, I think that KG and Flip will pull this team together. They are both pretty good at that. I hope Spree is just blowin some smoke right now b/c I really think that this is probably the Wolves best chance to win. Also, Glenn Taylor is a smart owner and is probably willing to work with Spree and Sam right now hopefully. Flip seems to be able to get the most out of his players too, so I think for some reason this will turn out alright. I think Eddie Griffin might have a good year too b/c Flip just does something to help resurrect players careers a little.

As long as you have (a healthy) Shaq you have a "chance" to win the NBA title, anyone who says different doesn't know basketball. Noone can cover him down low and now that he isn't playing with a selfish ego maniac who has to have all the spotlight you'll see Shaq dominate.
