Just not a happy fan with Melo anymore. And this is coming from a Syracuse fan that Melo became my favorite player. Time to Go
For once I agree with Maj...Melo (read Lala) ain't going to waive his NTC. He wants to "build his brand", read Lala wants to stay in NYC.

i think now is a weird time to want rid of melo. he's the best he's ever been as an all round player. his shots are down, his assists are up, he's still at 8 rebounds a game. he still sucks as a defender but the Knicks have the best Melo these days, I'm not sure who is gonna give up anything better

Its prob not the best year to deal melo. Knicks dont even got a 1st rounder, so what good does it do to be bad right now? Dealing him in offseason would be more ideal for them. If they can ever get him to waive which prob won't happen.

The Knicks are 9 games under .500 with Melo, that's not exactly good. The longer they wait to trade Melo, the older he gets, the less value he has.

Teams would probably be more hesitant right now to trade for him, not knowing exactly how this offseason will play out with the big cap increase. Once they see how things go, and how much room they could have to add and all, they might be more willing to deal for him.

Unless all the Knicks really want to do is just clear cap room, cause then I'm sure they could find a deal to just get rid of him for expiring contract guys.

Expiring contracts don't have the same value as they once did though, especially now.

Some teams want to compete this year, not next.

I could see it being a possibility. Heat have a very good chance of not being able to keep Whiteside, and no reports that I've saw claiming that he wants to stay even if they make the room.

But I don't see teams giving up an asset like Dwight, because Whiteside could leave after this year wherever he goes. Puts the Heat in a tough position really.

They should have traded him last year or in the offseason. But in sure Riley felt a healthy Dragic, Wade, Bosh, Whiteside would have been a legit contender this season.. Hasn't looked that way thus far.

If he's told Houston he would for sure resign with them then it's probably a good move for both sides. Miami doesn't have to gut their roster for just a chance of keeping him, and Houston gets a younger guy to keep trying to build on while getting back the best return for Dwight that they likely could.

He can be had for nothing in the offseason, why don't these teams realize this...

Well lucky for you they are nothing but rumors. They aren't moving Love.

I know but its annoying to see, that Melo deal reeked of trying to match up with the Warriors.

If the Cavs could swing a trade for either Ariza or Corey Brewer, I'd be happy. Not sure who the Cavs give up though.

Also, not a trade, but the Wolves have reached out to Thibs to coach. He'd be a great fit for them IMHO.
