NBA Cutting Draft Down to ONE Round?

    http://nbadraft.net/draftbuzz026.asp

First article on that page. Pretty interesting, seems that an age limit is still really far away from happening so the NBA might go down to a one round draft to discourage kids from entering the league early (at least such a large number of them). There's already a rush to invite undrafted guys to tryout, imagine what it would be if there are only 30 players drafted every year. Imagine how many guys would be back playing college ball this year if there was only one round last year.

Didn't see anything about this posted, searched and looked, sorry if it's old news.

Doesnt seem old to me but this should make the weakest of the bunch reconsider jumping out of school... but these colleges need to stop screwing the players like they do.

yea, it would definitely keep a good handful of guys in college at least for an extra year. Good move by the NBA IMO since an age limit is seemingly impossible as the players won't agree to it. and there are some 18 year olds that are good enough to be in the NBA, so it wouldn't be fair to make the LeBron's, Melo's, ect goto college for an extra year or two when they are obviously good enough to be in the league. Sort of win-win, at least in theory.

While alot of what you guys are saying is right, there have been and (if they dont cut it down) will continue to be guys that no matter what wont get looked at in the first round but could end up future all stars. A junior college guy might always be saddled with the label of having lesser competition, and thus not get looked at in the same light as others. I dont think im doin my argument justice, but I think the draft needs to stay 2 rounds.

I'm in favor of this. Something like this or a rule change would greatly improve an already exciting college game.

If the NBA is shot down in an attempt to put an age rule in, I would be in favor of adding a minor league system and adding a round or 2 to the draft.

This rule change would definitely increase the quality of the college game, giving the 'amendment' my support. With only 30 draft slots to be filled, more and more kids would stay in school - bringing interest back to college hoops.

it could possibly hurt the league, because then less college players will be chosen. As it is most high schoolers are taken in the 1st round, and the only players left after that are college players. Plus there is always the chance for a carlos boozer.
Just wait till Arsenal moves into Emirates Stadium.

in about 4-5 years it won't matter cause 2/3 of the draft(or at least the 1st round) will consist of euro players...so all the North American players will be forced to stay in school.

anyway whatever can be done to help out the college game,i'm down for...
