I've never liked Kobe but that **** was hilarious, I was giggling like a school girl

the funny thing is I'd tweeted this earlier in the day

and I knew it'd go one of 2 ways, the first being that way or he'd drop a close to career game. the game didn't start till 3:30AM so I fell asleep before the first quarter ended but I woke up midway through the 3rd and saw he had 35, shrugged it off and went back to sleep. woke up this morning and saw he had 60 and shot 50 shots and I wasn't even surprised, it was funny, almost like Kobe being Kobe just to make the people who hate Kobe hate Kobe even more and I think for once I actually liked Kobe last night, he just didn't care and for all I think he's overrated and I'm always gonna be in bron's corner, I'm glad he went out on a big game after that career, it really should've ended in the playoffs

I was box score watching with the Warriors on and watched the final 90 seconds or so of the Lakers and did not really enjoy it.

Kobe Bryant's probably about as close as I came to player hating someone since 2000. I never really enjoyed his playstyle and demeanor and I liked even less how much he was celebrated to such an extreme degree that seemed to outpace his actual career. He had a great career by many measures, but he's been celebrated as the second coming of Michael Jordan, which I find to be an unintended insult to Jordan. And I say that as a Pistons fan who hated how good Jordan was for most of his career.

And not to repeat what I said earlier in the thread, but something always felt so inauthentic about Bryant, and the more he tried, the more forced it felt, even something like the "Mamba out" line. In induces cringe on this end instead of adulation. I never really bought what he was selling and a lot of times I love fanfare and send-offs, but this wasn't one of them.

There is one thing I do wanna Kobe credit for. This is that from what I remember he never got gifts from every team in the league like you saw Mariano Rivera get. But if he did get gifts then I rescind this post and go back to hating Kobe even more.

Props to Kobe but 50 shots? That's the most in >30 years.

Honestly I couldn't care less if Kobe was efficient or not last night. That was fun as hell.

You'll never see this ever again in the NBA. Shoot, for all of these people in LA claiming its about championships they sure don't seem hurt that tomorrow they can't watch another game until next pre-season

Exactly, it is kind of pathetic and sad that a franchise revered for having won 16 NBA championships has to now pander to one player to dig up fan support. Next season will be hilarious with all the empty seats in Staples Center and no phony *** "Kobe Bryant farewell tour" to sucker people in. I'm just happy his charade of a last season is over even with his being gifted an undeserved All-Star appearance and final 60 point game (on 50 shots).

He shot 44%! That's not nearly as bad as some of you are making it out to be, not to mention they WON the game. His 3 point shooting % was awful, sure; but who cares? If you can't appreciate that kind of performance from a guy that is 37 years old, has had multiple season-ending injuries late in his career, and playing in his 20th NBA season...you just don't enjoy greatness.

I have no issue with Kobe jacking up all those shots (that's what Kobe does). Why leave any shots in reserve? My issue is the part Utah played in allowing him to score that many points. Embarrassing effort on the defense end.

Really? I found myself multiple times being mad at them cause they were double-teaming him or giving lots of help. I'm like really guys? It's his last game

**** all the excuses, a selfish, inefficient performance is just that no matter the "context." The Jazz are guilty in all this too since Quin Snyder obviously did nothing to stop Kobe (from a strategy stand point), but this was the most pathetic 60 point game ever. During a meaningless game, in a meaningless season with a player running around basking in his self entitled, selfish and narcissistic final season "tour."

I just wanna ask, will we see all this garbage for Nowitzki, Garnett or Duncan? Probably not cause none of them is so self centered to put himself and his decisions above the team and the process of trying to win games or help develop the younger players. Fitting ending for a washed up, arrogant has-been in Los Angeles, California.

Kobe doing what he did last night was the only "authentic" way for him to go out. It was a perfect example of his approach to the game. I'd have been disappointed with anything else.
