Also, Wilt was still making more than half his shots lol

I'm just beating around the bush to come to the point that I really don't feel it's a big deal either way. I don't see a case for this being some great, heroic performance, but I also don't see it being a huge disappointing, awful performance either.

22/50 is what 45ish%? He missed the acceptably correct efficiency mark by like 3 shots? It's really not that horrible. But on the other hand taking 50 shots in a game is definitely ridiculous. Especially all the poor 3 point attempts.

At the end of the day it was a very Kobe-esque performance, basically what I would have expected to see. But I'm not going to prop it up like it was great, nor drag it down like it was awful. It would be different if this was a game that meant anything, neither team was playing for anything but to end the year.

Would've just been a meaningless bloodbath then lol.

I'll say this in that y'all in a spot and have been for awhile where the majority, if not all of your games "matter", even those pointless December/January games. When you're a team just trying to get into the playoffs, the margin of error is smaller than it already is.

I saw the Lakers won and heard Kobe had 60. Looked at the box score and saw 22-50...knew this thread would be awesome. OS never lets me down!

Oh no, I agree. We choked down the stretch. We should have beat the Warriors. We should have beat the Spurs. We had them on the ropes and let them come back and win, it happens, they're elite teams.

But then we lose to the Clippers JV squad. We lose to a wounded Mavericks team. We lost to Brooklyn in like February or something. We just lost games that we can't lose if we want to be a playoff squad. Yes, we were injured, but we were still better than a lot of the teams we lost to and that's our own fault.

I hope it burns in these guys this offseason. They don't deserve the postseason after their play down the stretch and in crunch time.

What makes it worse was that this was a "down year" for the West compared to years past since the 7-8th spots always had 50 win teams but this year, they were wide open for anybody.

Pretty much agree with this, but you really couldn't figure out what Kobe's FG% was from last night?

Where it starts to degenerate and always will is when you have a lack of a post and start throwing the word hate around. That's not different than someone calling a fan a butt licker or fanboy.

It's kind of a means to jump in when you really have nothing to say because you disagree but have no input on how.

I think the balance between the conferences is starting to even out, so I don't think we'll see any 50 win teams at the 7th and 8th spots in a while, at least in the West. Teams like Dallas and Memphis are aging, which opens up a little room for some young squads like Portland, Utah, Minnesota, etc.

This is the first time since 1997-1998 that the EC's #8 seed had a better record than the WC's #8 seed.

The Western Conference has now made a great case for ditching the East/West Playo...LOL JK.

Lol. Who would have thought looking at a boxscore wasn't entertaining. It's like looking at a piano sheet and say, man I don't enjoy that music.

Kobe had 50 shots left in him and he took em and won the game. He made a show out of an irrelevant game nobody should have even watched. I think it was amazing.
