Ted or Ernie are not THAT dumb to give a guy who just missed most of the year and is hitting 30, a max contract. Come on now, don't tell me ya'll are gonna eat up every rumor that comes out just because?

Hey, it looks crazy, but I would've had that same reaction if you would've told me a Raptor who played 22 minutes and averaged 5.5/5.8/0.4 was about to get a max after a good playoff series. I don't know what to believe. These GM's are out here playing with Monopoly money, im all in for the era of the baseball contract.

A whole lot of hyperbole in the bolded. Ibaka couldn't hit a perimeter shot 3 years ago. Not sure about what he would become when he's only 26 which is just 2 years older than Kanter.

Offensively I'll agree but no way defensively.

I just don't like the organization's constant need to trade away players as they're hitting their prime which is why I won't blame their 2 stars for walking if they choose to do so.

All things staying the same does that trade make OKC better this coming season in the West? They've lost a shot blocker and defender but added a player who isn't even better than Waiters.

I thought you didn't know if Dipo was better than Waiters, but not you're outright saying he is without knowing? Lol

I do know that if OKC wants to continue their frantic pace that they used throughout the playoffs into the season, Dipo is a better fit than Waiters, especially when pared next to WB in the lineup.

As for Ibaka, I will say that it would be naive to think that there wouldn't be a drop off(in the short term at least)with him going but the impact won't be as bad as we think. We just watched Adams' defense improve throughout the playoffs, especially in the PnR and on rotations and we watched Kanter's game on Offense evolve as well, as like OJ mentioned, improved PnR defense.

Ultimately at the end of the day, I don't think this is going to make or break Duran't decision(since he's not going anywhere anyway)in FA this offseason.

So many takes swimming around in my head right now about the D.Rose sell off, but I can sum it up by saying Gar Forman and John Paxson both need to be fired. Knowing Reinsdorf's M.O., they won't be, or at least not until this disastrous lottery-bound 16-17 season unfolds first.

There is a word/job description for someone who drafts decently well but can't seem to excel at any of the other aspects of being a GM. That word is "scout."

Stupid suggestion: Besides # of games played...why not make the loser of the NBA Finals be the team that they send to the Olympics.

Granted, if the Spurs ever lose, we'd probably have a 3-man squad with all of the Int'l players they have

But round out the team with select players from the NCAA.

The Finals loser would be incredibly motivated (or not give a crap ) because they just lost.

And we'd be done with the cakewalk blowout games in the early rounds.

And they'd have a chance to get a medal since they couldn't get a ring.

Sounds stupid I know but this is hot takes season on OS so here's mine.

Don't even bother if you want a gold. The AAU's have screwed up a lot of things man.

We just can't expect the best of the best to go every time anymore. These dudes are going to make usa basketball retool their way of producing teams, like every other one or something but the way they cry for rest is gonna make them not want to go there either.
