Wonder if the GM ran this by Durant.

I don't get why the trade was so highly praised.

Is Oladipo even better than Dion Waiters? Legit question. I'd say Waiters is better (not by much) but this isn't the type of move that gets OKC over the hump.

I really like Sabonis. But the trade IMO is more about balancing out the roster with young pieces in case they can't re-sign Durant or Westbrook. That's how the OKC front office operates.

And I still don't understand why they matched Kanter but didn't want to pay Ibaka next year. Younger? To me that's kinda crazy.
I think the trade will end up being good for both teams in the short term. OKC can wait another year to pay Dipo if they want to wait and see what Durant/Westbrook decide to do. He's up for an extension this fall, but won't be a RFA until next offseason.

I'd say Waiters is a better shooter/scorer, but his defense isn't his strong suit and, effort wise, you'll rarely have to worry about Oladipo on that end. I think Victor could excel (be more efficient) in OKC not being a primary option on offense, as long as he can cut down on his unforced errors/mistakes and take better shots. He can also be a primary ballhandler in short stints, leaving others to play off the ball more.

Being on some bad teams in Orlando, I think people kinda forget this is going to be Oladipo's 4th season...how long can we wait for him to live up to his full potential or is this it?

          Max deal for Noah?

"The summer of crazy spending in the NBA is only days away and it is likely to start in Washington. But we’re not talking about the Wizards’ pursuit of Kevin Durant, which most observers regard as slightly delusional.

According to sources, the Wiz are locked in on making a major offer to Joakim Noah. The Wizards are said to be willing to offer Noah, coming off shoulder surgery that KO’d him in January, a full maximum contract. His deal would start at $28 million and reach around $120 million over four seasons."

I do have a question for King or any of the Bulls fans in the house, what's Joakim Noah got left? I see a lot of chatter about interest from both sides.
That's the million dollar question right there my man.

It's really hard to say because Jo had that defensive player of the year season with some MVP consideration and he looked fantastic. Then he had injuries the following year in addition to Jimmy's emergence meaning the offense didn't run through him any more and then Hoiberg brought his Yes Man *** in here this past season and put him on the bench and he got hit with injuries again.

Noah is like Rose. It's all going to come down to whether he can stay healthy or not. If he's healthy he's gonna instantly be a defensive anchor for the Knicks if that's where he ends up, though the combination of Melo, Rose and Kristaps may negate whatever good he brings lol. He's not going to be any sort of offensive wizard or anything, but he's a guy that can bring the ball up in transition and start the offense if need be. He's a great passer with awesome vision for a big guy because he ran point in high school before his growth spur. He's only 31 so he still has plenty in the tank, it's just a matter of whether his body can hold up.

They aren't spending money on Ibaka just to get a shot blocker while they have Adams on the roster. Especially since Adam's may have proved to be a better hedge guy during this years playoffs.

Also doesn't help that Ibaka has the build, length, potential to be an elite rebounder but doesn't get rebounds. His contract vs output is pretty awful despite what his build and potential seemed to indicate he would become. Dude hasn't improved as a player in like 5 seasons now.

I guess the success that the Kanter/Adams lineup had late in theses playoffs signed the end of Ibaka.

If somebody signs Joakim Noah for 28 mil a year I promise you when I have a son he won't be allowed to be seen without a basketball in his hands.

LMAO that sounds too stupid to be true.

Ted or Ernie are not THAT dumb to give a guy who just missed most of the year and is hitting 30, a max contract. Come on now, don't tell me ya'll are gonna eat up every rumor that comes out just because?

I love Joakim. I actually wouldn't mind having him stick around here in Chicago, but there is no way in hell I'd pay Jo 28 mil a year. Chec bout to roll over in his grave when he see this mess.

A whole lot of hyperbole in the bolded. Ibaka couldn't hit a perimeter shot 3 years ago. Not sure about what he would become when he's only 26 which is just 2 years older than Kanter.

Offensively I'll agree but no way defensively.

I just don't like the organization's constant need to trade away players as they're hitting their prime which is why I won't blame their 2 stars for walking if they choose to do so.

All things staying the same does that trade make OKC better this coming season in the West? They've lost a shot blocker and defender but added a player who isn't even better than Waiters.

If the Wiz are seriously gonna pay Noah $28M then the Knicks should just load up on Bradley Beal.

I'll take the young injured guy over the old injured guy.
