So when fans say they want parity, I always call bull**** because that's not what they really want.
I'm not talking about the fans, I'm talking about the league and the owners themselves. The 8 out of 30 franchises that represent the last 16 NBA Champions may not necessarily care but I'd venture to say that the other 22 owners definitely want parity since it's their $$ on the line.

Whatever, the best of luck to those dudes in GS. Hopefully the Spurs can find another wing player so I don't have to see Kyle Anderson on the court.

If a player wants to win and has a great opportunity to join a winner, there's not really anything you can do to prevent them from leaving.
It's a fair tradeoff, if a player is willing to take less to get out from a situation.

Look at Von Miller. He can't get out from Denver. If the NFL had a similar CBA, he might take a 4-year deal instead of a 5-year deal if his original team is stonewalling him and willing to use the franchise tag.

Forget Zaza , trade him for Walter Tavaras from ATL he is going to be the next Whiteside.

Oh the same 22 owners who cried broke in the last CBA because they couldn't control how THEY spent THEIR money, who are damn near pulling in increased revenue every year from the gates AND this TV money?

Yeah, I'm sure their losing sleep over the lack of parity that plagued the league for the last 30 something years.

Well as a fan of the game and of no team in particular can you explain to me why I wouldn't want the chance to see 10 or more teams have a chance to win it all rather than the 3 or 4 which seems to be the norm?

Teams are getting more money with the TV deals too.

The way they were handing out contracts this offseason, it doesn't look like any of them are in financial trouble.

They may still lock out, begging for a new CBA to protect them from themselves.

About 20 years ago, KG got one of the first over $100 million contracts and some said that was a franchise-saving deal because if he left the Wolves, the team might not have gotten support up there.

Well the Grizzlies, which have already moved from Vancouver, gave out almost $250 million to Conley and Parsons. Are those players going to make them championship contenders? No but they probably will be winning 45-50 games a year and be well into the playoffs almost every year. That might be enough to fill their arena and watch the games on local TV.
