Sadly you can say the same thing about HB2.

Also probably relevant in the decision making process is that a long-time close friend of David Stern and current Chief of Operations for Golden State Rick Welts came out as gay a few years ago. He's credited with creating NBA All-Star weekend.

This dude Jayson Williams spilling the beans about the 90's. His stuff about guys like Barkley are gold, others too..like Bird and MJ.

          For example

"My second day of practice we’re out there running up and down. Charles Barkley comes in about five minutes late. He comes in and he has a big McDonald’s bag. And he goes and he sits down on the bike," Williams told Vice. "And like a chemist. You know, a guy over there cutting up lines or something. You know?

"He’s just making — he’s got his back toward us and he’s doing stuff — I’m like, ‘What the hell is he doing?’ So, he takes the eggs, and he takes the pancakes, the sausage, maple syrup and butter, puts it all in one, wraps it up with the pancake and gets some extra syrup."

Not only did Barkley eat the pancakes while his teammates worked out, according to Williams, he also taunted them while they went about their business.

"And I’m going, ‘Wow, you going to eat that then and come run with us?’ Hell no," Williams said. "He’s going to eat that while he’s on the stationary bike. Peddling one mile an hour going … ‘Run the floor!’ … ‘That’s why we ain’t never going to win the game!’ And pancake is spitting out his mouth.”

Yea I posted the Yahoo article in the OT thread. I definitely believe the part about Barkley and the exercise bike. That seems like something Barkley would do.

Makes it funny to hear Chuck talk about winning when he did that kind of stuff.

It almost gives you the reason why he didn't do better.

Why does this make me think of his golf swing?

If his attitude in his peak was to be stubborn and arrogant (and I can't even blame him since it seemed to work, although who the hell knows what the results would've been if he'd been a full timer (kinda like we don't know about shaq))...

... got sidetracked for a minute but yeah, the golf swing, he probably thinks he can still make it work on his own

                  Worse than Golf Swings though.

Can you imagine a star player today eating mcdonalds and riding a treadmill after coming late, then yelling at the players who are actually practicing while he's riding the bike and his mouth is full of microwaved eggs?

He still put up monster numbers with just talent.

Now if he ate and trained better, would he have beaten MJ in the Bulls and Suns series?

                      Dis dude D Rose man...

I see a headline that says "Derrick Rose thinks Knicks and Warriors are super teams" and my immediate reaction was to say Isola sucks, just instinct. But he actually said it. Im torn between sadness because he's delusional and may be insane and happiness because he's already got the irrational confidence you need to survive a season of Knicks basketball. If his quotes follow the general fan pattern, he'll be ready to retire by mid-November.

Part of me calls BS on that story.

Eating a homemade McGriddle while riding the exercise bike AND talking ****? Really? Why does that seem like something he would do?

All these teammates he played with during that time and this is NOW just coming out?

I think the bigger story is that Barkley invented the McGriddle back in the 90s.

Wouldnt really suprise me at all- would be an odd story for Jayson to make up in the middle of July for no reason....

Not really groundbreaking to hear about a star being an *** behind the scenes either

I'd be calling it an odd story if it was the middle of the season too. Timing has nothing to do with it.

And I never said it was either. My post actually had nothing to do with whether he was an a-hole or not...
