re: 2016 NBA Offseason Thread
I thought Delonte was actually decent in Dallas. He had other serious issues that played a big role in his downfall.
Also don't know if I'd say JR's career was "dying" before he got to Cleveland because he was still an effective player before getting there as well.#RespectTheCultureComment

I dont know man, JR's stock was pretty damn low....he was a throw in with that trade coming off a lot of locker room talk and even a lot of folks here called it a lateral move putting him on the same level of Dion Waiters, lol
Speaking of Waiters, hes a UFA nowComment

I mean what's really different about JR though? He was and is still a streaky shooter who'll take some bonehead shots at times, but also make a lot of shots at times too. The only difference and he's said as much is that he's in Cleveland now with nothing to do but play basketball. His on court game is the same as it's always been though.

re: 2016 NBA Offseason Thread
But to the point where he was going to be out of the league if he didn't get traded(which is what I took it to mean when he said he was "dying")though?
It was low(along with everyone's stock on that Knicks team was based on how they played, Melo too)but it wasn't THAT low to the point where he'd be finished if never got traded.#RespectTheCultureComment

re: 2016 NBA Offseason Thread
His focus on defense I would say...which is teamates and coaches have talked about all year...but sure he is and will always be a chucker...OJ said positive impact I beleive, not so much a transformation...
Having the most opportunities to shoot 'boring' 3's of his career is a big plus too, lolComment

Though I would say his lack of offers as a free agent that following year were pretty telling....Comment

re: 2016 NBA Offseason Thread
Yes he was. He was always a great sidekick to those Shaq teams too. Let Shaq be Shaq and UD bring the energy and intensity. I think the Bron/Wade/Bosh group did a good job of stretching that out to when UD was into his 30's. Though it's very possible he could have done that without them too.

re: 2016 NBA Offseason Thread
I put that moreso on his agent, since he shouldn't have been a FA last year anyway. I think he's repped by Bron's boy if I'm not mistaken.
You had a $6.4 Mil player option and YOU turn down that deal only to end up making less than what you made before? Oh hell nah#RespectTheCultureComment

re: 2016 NBA Offseason Thread
JR is interesting because I agree I dont think he was going to be out of the league but it makes me wonder because last year dude had no offers. Again this year, dudes got no offers. We think he goes back to Cleveland for however many mil, but that's because they have no leverage and can't replace him.
It seems like teams really aren't that interested in having him.Originally posted by G PericoIf I ain't got it, then I gotta take it

JR wouldn't be out of the league, but he was headed towards Swaggy P stock, and a likely similar role. Rather than starting and playing large minutes in vital games, and defending some teams better wing scorers.

Still don't think he was headed that way either but regardless, that wasn't my initial point when I made that OP yesterday.
I was basically curious about how much guys have gotten paid(mainly from other teams)after playing with superstar/elite players.#RespectTheCultureComment

No one wanted him."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied.
