I don't get it. They matched for Kanter.

What is their game plan...to ride KD and RW til the wheels fall off?

Marks needed to take any pick he could get and start building from the ground up. Take this years pick + the future 2nd round pick. Not like they were going anywhere with Thad anyway.

If that was Thad's value then it's just a salary dump which is fine. Tim Hardaway Jr was traded for the 19th pick last year. I guess picks aren't worth what they used to be.

Will be interesting to see how long they are willing to stay patient.

Gordon Hayward declined an invite to play for Team USA.

Would have been fun to watch him play.

Would like getting Ibaka, but like other guys Raptors rumored to be interested in, contract expires after 16-17 season. Sure, they're in "win now" mode, but wouldn't like this deal as much if he just ends up coming for 1 year and leaves. Specifically if it doesn't lead to any sort of improvement over their 2016 playoff finish.

He's declined over past 2 years, is it a case where change of scenery could get him back to his 2011-2014 form, or is this a potential sign of things to come for him, when he's only gonna be 27 this upcoming season.

Seems like Marks wants to bite the bullet and wait until 2017 to make a jump in the rebuild. If that is the case, then dumping Young's contract for a 1st is perfectly fine by me. Still had $38 mil. left over 3 years

Yea Marc Stein said it was family reasons. My bad on word choice. Didn't specify what they were.

Wonder if *gasp* KD told 'em that he was going to move on and OKC is already working on retooling/rebuilding.

Definitely is. Can't see why guys like Kawhi or Lillard are pulling out. Don't remember them picking up any big injuries during the season.

I hate to be the "maybe next year" type of guy but the only bright spot I see at this point is the fact that they got this 1st from Indy + they have that conditional 1st next year. Marks seems to want to move slowly until next summer.
I'm cool with the patient approach and I'm glad Ownership is as well.

We tried the "Make it Rain" approach when we first moved to Brooklyn and didn't get anywhere with that, so might as well go with the patient and steady rebuild approach. Can't get any worse than where we were this past year anyway.

Definitely need to address PG though.
