Kyrie has to do a better job creating for his teammates. Dude is a great scorer with devastating handles, and makes some of the most difficult layups I've ever seen.

But he makes alot of dumb mistakes and questionable passes. Stuff CP3 would never do, but I guess that's what you get with a score first pg.

And don't even get me started on Cousins, he just looked lost.

I completely disagree about the comment regarding us sending our "B" team. These guys are top players in the greatest league in the world. Talent wise we are far and away the best. That's no excuse.

These guys simply aren't taking it seriously. There is very little leadership and zero killer instinct.

Poorly constructed "team". Individually, yeah these guys are great. But basketball is a team sport. It's far, far deeper of a game and international clubs, with far less talent, understand this. For some reason this group hasn't figured that out yet.

With no Paul, LeBron, Kobe, etc true leaders, we struggle. Although talented, those guys understood how to get the best out of their teammates. No one on this roster can replicate that.

I wish we would've been beat. These guys need a wake up call.

They've only been together for what...2 months?

Yes, they should be destroying teams based on talent alone. But anyone thinking they would all click right away knows that's not how it works nor has it ever.

Shoot, we've already seen how teams in the league look when they have zero chemistry when it matters.

Yeah, I think Doug Collins referenced that during the game. This roster is far from the U.S.A.'s best, but it's not as if this crew is anywhere close to playing to the fullest of their abilities, and that's completely on them.

That said, if we'd sent a squad composed of:

          LeBron James
          Stephen Curry
          Kevin Durant
          Kawhi Leonard
          Russell Westbrook
          Chris Paul
          Damian Lillard
          Anthony Davis
          Paul George
          Blake Griffin
          Carmelo Anthony
          Dwight Howard

... we probably wouldn't have to be sitting here worrying about whether the team was meshing well enough. This "B" team can play better than they are, but these types of results are what happen when the majority of your country's absolute best opt to pass.

America's absolute best can still compensate for all the weirdness that comes with assembling a team to play international basketball for a few weeks every four years. But when you send a lot of second tiers with little international experience and start running into teams with out legitimate basketball players with NBA skill who also happen to be immersed within their international program, that's a recipe for some problems.

Well, 7 of the guys you mentioned did play together for 6 years in International Competition so they had the chemistry, whereas this team doesn't which shouldn't be a surprise.

But I also do realize that they're 4-0 and if/when they win the gold, then this convo will pretty much be moot in 2 weeks.

That talent depth at C is looking a little shaky though

Cousins gets taken out his game mentally so easily. As soon as he misses a few shots and draws a foul or two, it a wrap for him.

Spain could beat the U.S, Gasol goes into God mode in these things. Rubio would give them fits too.

France is going to beat the U.S, if the same U.S team shows up today.
