I can just imagine how different it would be with CP3. He knows how to get Deandre going on the offensive end.

I thought Calderon was out too, no?

Even still, we're talking about arguably their 2 best players? Two of the top 3? In basketball... and when picking from a much smaller pool than the US, missing those 2 definitely deserves mention.

US is missing LBJ and Curry... no one else really matters for much more than depth imo (in a conversation about A, B or C teams). There are plenty other players I'd rather see out there, but speaking of a 7 or 8 man rotation to get the bulk of the minutes, the US is very well represented.

If we're just picking from the top and not trying to round out a balanced team, who else are you considering... Harden, Unibrow, Paul, Westbrook, Griffin? Am I missing anyone? Who would we be cutting (accounting for a drop in defense when we do)? Barnes (obvious one), Klay, Butler, DeRozen and Lowry?

That last part isn't to support or dispute any argument... was literally just thinking out loud.

You just add Lebron and CP3, it changes the whole dynamic, they don't have the veterans they need. CP3 and Bron, command respect, these guys are young and get sloppy at times. And yet their still far and above everyone else.

I'm so sick of all the hot takes, and Barkley's usual negative garbage and so on. This team barely knows each other, their beating teams, that has veterans and has played together for years.

This young inexperienced team B or C team is undefeated, and has shown me they can turn it in at anytime, they don't panic, yes.. they go to ISO mode too often, make lazy passes, and sometimes don't get back on defense, or try to make the homerun play, instead of a more efficient choice.

But, when they have to bear down they do. You see Klay constantly moving off the ball, you see guys crashing the glass, including the guards, they lockdown the perimeter, they fight through screens, it's just that their not threatened, and they get lazy and lose interest.

          Still ain't nobody beating them.

That's why I said if we win the gold, then we forget all about those "struggles" they had in group play.

4 years from now, when Pop has his squad ready, I expect that Tokyo team to be ALOT better than this squad. He'll have AD, Kawhi, Kyrie, Bron(if he wants to go for one more go round)

You do know that they were all alternates anyway and damn near our 3rd and 4th choices. If it wasn't for guys being injured and/or folks having "Zika Fears", half of the guys on the team now wouldn't even be there.

Like DY said, adding just Lebron and CP3 changes the whole dynamic of the team. Not to mention you're bringing back basically the core of your last team with Kobe being the only one not playing.

I thought Calderon was out too, no?
He was out there this year and Ibaka didn't make the final cut. So really, they were just missing Marc because of his injury.

I think CP3 will age gracefully....assuming he can stay relatively healthy...I think he will be like Jason Kidd on that '12 team..

You mean the '08 team since he wasn't on the London squad but I get what you mean though lol

USA vs Serbia for the Gold since they blew out Australia.

I fell asleep at the end of the first quarter of Spain USA, such a fail. Congrats though.

USA women smacked Spain, win their 6th straight gold medal. And 49th straight Olympic game.
